Synopsis

In the heart of the American wilderness, honor is the only law.

The Deerslayer is the first chronologically—and last written—of James Fenimore Cooper's famed Leatherstocking Tales, introducing the noble and rugged Natty Bumppo, also known as "Deerslayer." Set against the backdrop of the French and Indian War, this epic tale captures the brutal beauty of frontier life, exploring themes of honor, conflict, cultural tension, and man's relationship with nature.

With sweeping descriptions of the untamed wilderness, Cooper's storytelling delivers both thrilling action and moral introspection, making it a cornerstone of early American literature.

A foundling of mysterious parentage brought up by Mr. Allworthy on his country estate, Tom Jones is deeply in love with the seemingly unattainable Sophia Western, the beautiful daughter of the neighboring squire though he sometimes succumbs to the charms of the local girls. When Tom is banished to make his own fortune and Sophia follows him to London to escape an arranged marriage, the adventure begins. A vivid Hogarthian panorama of eighteenth-century life, spiced with danger and intrigue, bawdy exuberance and good-natured authorial interjections, Tom Jones is one of the greatest and most ambitious comic novels in English literature.
BOOK 6: In our last book we have been obliged to deal pretty much with the passion of love; and in our succeeding book shall be forced to handle this subject still more largely. It may not therefore in this place be improper to apply ourselves to the examination of that modern doctrine, by which certain philosophers, among many other wonderful discoveries, pretend to have found out, that there is no such passion in the human breast.

William Butler Yeats was born in Sandymount in County Dublin, Ireland on 13th June 1865.
His early years moved between Ireland and England. By his mid-teens he was writing but those works were described as ‘entirely Un-Irish’. With Ernest Rhys he founded the Rhymers Club. Based at Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese in Fleet Street it’s best described as a drinking club for performing poets. Yeats later cited them as ‘The Tragic Generation’. By now Yeats was writing and publishing poetry and stories that were profoundly based in Irish folklore.
Yeats is perhaps best described as Ireland’s national poet in addition to being one of the major twentieth-century literary figures of the English tongue. He represents the ‘Romantic poet of modernism,’ with an extraordinary style created from the outward emphasis on the expression of emotions and the extensive use of symbolism, imagery and allusions.
In 1923 his fame was brought to an even wider audience when he received the Nobel Prize in Literature.
His personal life was driven by his many relationships in love and by his great interest in oriental mysticism and occultism. Yeats also wrote prose and drama and, as an ardent Nationalist, established himself as a spokesman of the Irish cause and served as an Irish senator for two terms.
W B Yeats died at the Hôtel Idéal Séjour, in Menton, France, on 28th January 1939. He was 73.

"The Oldest and Strongest Emotion of Mankind is Fear, and the Oldest and Strongest Kind of Fear is Fear of the Unknown."

H.P. Lovecraft did not just write horror; he created an entire universe of ancient gods and forbidden knowledge that has haunted the human imagination for a century. Moving beyond traditional ghosts and vampires, Lovecraft pioneered "Cosmic Horror"—the terrifying realization that humanity is an insignificant speck in a vast, uncaring cosmos. This comprehensive collection brings together every tale of madness, every forbidden tome, and every shadow-shrouded town from the master of the weird.

Inside this monumental collection, you will explore:

The Architecture of the Mythos: Experience the interconnected cycle of stories involving ancient, slumbering deities and the secret cults that seek to wake them.

The Descent into Madness: Witness the "Lovecraftian Protagonist"—scholars and explorers whose pursuit of truth leads them to sights that the human mind was never meant to behold.

Atmospheric World-Building: Immerse yourself in the decaying seaports and shunned hill-country of "Lovecraft Country," where the geometry is wrong and the shadows have teeth.

The Philosophy of the Unknown: Delve into the "Cosmic Indifferentism" that makes Lovecraft's work uniquely chilling—the idea that the universe is not hostile, but simply doesn't care that we exist.

Lovecraft's influence is the foundation of modern horror, inspiring everything from blockbuster films to dark tabletop gaming. Whether you are a seeker of the "Necronomicon" or a fan of psychological dread, this volume is an essential cornerstone for any library of supernatural literature and modern myth-making.
