Sinopse

Velvel's Violin, a deeply moving and political fifth collection by TS Eliot Prize-shortlisted poet Jacqueline Saphra places us on the shifting ground between past and present. Through its search for missing histories of the Jewish diaspora, the book is a call for empathy and a warning to a world where the legacy of the Holocaust echoes current narratives of prejudice, war, displacement, and migration.
Saphra's precisely-tuned writing ranges through tones of dark humour, lyrical beauty and moments of transcendent joy to find assonance between the turbulence of now and a family history of fragmented stories, irreparable loss and miraculous escapes. Between each poem - forgotten songs, weeping forests, buried violins - sound and silence combine to speak of love, absence and survival.

This book is all about the poems I have written on the things surrounding me when I'm lonely vs. being around many people. The book will have poems in a sequence to compare having nothing vs having everything. If you are open to new ideas and revelations, this book is specifically for you. Do not let your personal beliefs affect the book's purpose. Just enjoy and be prepared for a rollercoaster of different quality poems.
In a world increasingly cluttered with noise and haste, "Nothing vs Everything Vice Versa" emerges as a beacon of clarity and insight, delving into the profound realms of words, the beauty of life, and the essence of patience with purpose. This audiobook, narrated with a compelling voice that weaves through the intricacies of human experiences and philosophical musings, invites listeners on a journey that challenges perceptions, enlightens minds, and soothes souls. The narrative begins by exploring the power of words—seemingly simple symbols that can uplift or destroy, enlighten or obscure.
"Nothing vs Everything Vice Versa" eloquently argues that words are not mere communication vehicles, but potent tools that shape our realities, beliefs, and identities. Through captivating stories and thoughtful analyses, the audiobook reveals how the words we choose to use and the narratives we tell ourselves and others construct the edifice of our lives. It emphasizes the responsibility that comes with this power and the transformative potential of mindful communication.
As the journey progresses, the audiobook blossoms into celebrating life's beauty. It paints vivid landscapes of the human condition, exploring the depths of sorrow the peaks of joy, and everything in between.
"Nothing vs Everything Vice Versa" does not shy away from the complexities and contradictions inherent in living, but instead embraces them as sources of strength and wisdom.

This book was written over a period of ten years. These poems are inspirational, they leave the reader with points to ponder. The book is inspired by real life experiences and stories from those around me. The book covers a wide range of topics from family dynamics, love, oppression, xenophobia, discrimination. It touches on issues, that people are not comfortable sharing. The book cover was painted by a great friend, whom I consider a sister, a Kenyan painter and art entrepreneur Wanjiru Kibera. We met in France 10 years ago. So I hope this book will be a full artistic encounter, that will enrich and touch your soul. I hope it will cause reflective thinking.
As, for me the author, I have a Bachelor's degree in French Theatre and Cinema, both practical and theoretical (Arts du Spectacle/Performing Arts) from the prestigious French University : Université de Grenoble Alpes.

    Troilus and Cressida

Troilus and Cressida is a tragedy by William Shakespeare, believed to have been written in 1602. It was described by Frederick S. Boas as one of Shakespeare's problem plays. The play ends on a very bleak note with the death of the noble Trojan Hector and destruction of the love between Troilus and Cressida. The work has in recent years "stimulated exceptionally lively critical debate".
Throughout the play, the tone lurches wildly between bawdy comedy and tragic gloom, and readers and theatre-goers have frequently found it difficult to understand how one is meant to respond to the characters. Several characteristic elements of the play (the most notable being its constant questioning of intrinsic values such as hierarchy, honour and love) have often been viewed as distinctly "modern".
Among the most significant works William Shakespeare: Hamlet, Othello, King Lear, Macbeth, Orpheus, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, Troilus and Cressida, The Tempest, Venus and Adonis, Antony and Cleopatra, Measure for Measure, The Winter's Tale and many more.

"The Romance of the Headless Horseman" is a gothic poem by Hercules Ellis, first appearing in his collection of poems in "The Rhyme Book" published in 1851. This rare 19th-century penny dreadful spins a dark and dramatic story inspired by ghostly legends of a decapitated rider who stalks the night. With its gripping suspense and eerie atmosphere, this forgotten classic is a gem of gothic poetry ─ a haunting tale that is a great accompaniment for any dark or stormy night.

The Way of Passion draws on the poems of Jalalud-Din Rumi (1207-1273) to present a guide to the timeless truth and beauty of Rumi's words. Inspired by Rumi's voice and by his own startling ability to see into the innermost heart of life, Andrew Harvey urges us to change, to have faith, and to act through love to transform this time of apocalypse into the time of resurrection. The passion of his words shine with an intensity that can embrace and inspire us all. This recording features musical accompaniment created and performed by Steve Coughlin.
