THISTLEWOOD MANOR: BUMPED BY A DAME is Book #6 in a charming 1920s cozy mystery series by Fiona Grace, #1 bestselling author of Murder in the Manor, which has over 300 five star reviews!

For centuries, Thistlewood Manor has stood as home to the Montagu family, a beacon to British aristocracy in rural England. But it’s 1928, and in this new age of women’s rights, Eliza Montagu, 27, a free spirit, has turned her back on her family to live an artist’s life in London.

Yet after Eliza is summoned home, she decides to stay (for now) to help her father run the ailing family business. The presence of her childhood best friend, Oliver, also gives her a reason to stay, as she wonders if their unfulfilled romance might ever come to fruition.

The time has come, it seems, for Oliver to finally propose, and Eliza is ecstatic. Finally, her whole life seems to come into place.

Until Eliza catches Oliver with his ex.

    His ex ends up murdered.

And all eyes point to Eliza.

Can Eliza, arrested, clear her name? And with her sisters’ and the servants’ help, find the true killer?

A charming historical cozy mystery series that transports readers back in time, THISTLEWOOD MANOR is mystery at its finest: spellbinding, atmospheric and impossible to put down. A page-turner packed with shocking twists, turns and a mystery that’s hard to solve, it will leave you reading late into the night, all while you fall in love with its unforgettable heroine.

How do you get blood out of a silk blouse? Betsy Livingston can tell you in her newspaper column, "The Happy Hinter". When she's not writing, or taking care of her young son, she's busy solving mysteries in the tiny Texas town of Pecan Bayou.
5 Stars- I loved this book. A quick and quirky read. Had me guessing right up till the end. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to have a good time.

This is a folk tale of how the first tree came into being. It tells of a hero Winfried with his young companion stepping boldly into the pagan right of the passing into winter. He preaches the gospel of Christ and His birth on that night; then from the heavens came a miracle that resulted in the salvation of the people. To celebrate, they brought new life or the Christmas tree into their homes. (Summary by Penny Ann)

The third book in the Inspector Alan Grant series.

Val McDermid described Josephine Tey as the ‘most interesting of the great female writers of the Golden Age’, and this unconventional crime mystery – one of the best loved of Tey’s works – is a brilliant example of what makes her so unique.

A town full of colourful characters and an impossible disappearance, all threaded through with Tey’s signature psychological probing: all of these delicious ingredients explain why The Franchise Affair has repeatedly been adapted for film and television, and why the Crime Writers Association named it one of the Top 100 Crime Novels of All Time.
