Sinopsis

'Who knows what adventures await?'
It's Thursday night – so Jess, Maryn and Milo are at Dennis's board-game café, continuing their quest to defeat the Nightmare King… It has been months, but now all that stands between them and victory is a few lucky rolls of a twenty-sided die.
A struggling student, an overworked trainee solicitor and a reluctant job-seeker, here they are transformed into Dungeon Master, Wizard and Warrior Princess. But what happens when the line between fantasy and reality begins to blur?
Funny, gripping and heartfelt, Jack Bradfield's play The Habits opened at Hampstead Theatre Downstairs, London, in 2025, directed by Ed Madden.

A soaring collection of poems that deftly explores the familial, personal, and societal relationships of a young Black woman trying to make her way in a fraught world.

Freedom reverberates in Skye Jackson’s breathtaking debut, Libre, with evocative poems that are heart-wrenching, haunting, sensual, and tender. This collection explores the experiences of a young Black woman in New Orleans as she navigates the pull of familial and romantic relationships, celebrating the joys of Blackness, art, and friendship. Libre also includes Jackson’s award-winning poem “can we touch your hair?” which was hand selected by former US Poet Laureate Billy Collins for inclusion in the Library of Congress Poetry 180 Project.

An acolyte of Sade and Stevie Nicks, Jackson muses on microaggressions, interracial relationships, and the endless intricacies of Black women’s hair as she rails against loss, random violence, and the dark expectations that society often places upon people of color. She roams each room of the heart, open and unafraid of what she might find behind every door. Through it all, this debut shines as the poetry refracts and reflects like a mirror leaving nothing unseen.

Crossing Continents of Seasons is a luminous collection of poems tracing one soul's passage from confinement to freedom, from silence to belonging, from loss to love. Through vivid imagery and quiet honesty, Amer Malas explores the borders we inherit and the ones we create—the emotional geographies of exile, memory, and renewal.
These poems move through childhood's small boxes, the ache of displacement, and the slow awakening of the heart. Blending spiritual reflection and lyrical storytelling, the book invites readers to walk beside the author through landscapes of shadow and light, where grief softens into understanding and stillness becomes home.
For those standing between worlds or learning to begin again, Crossing Continents of Seasons is both a mirror and a lantern—an offering of presence, healing, and hope.

A New York Times New-in-Poetry feature
Marlanda Dekine’s debut collection is a holy, radical unlearning and reclamation of self. What does it mean to be a Gullah-Geechee descendant from a rural place where a third of the nation’s founding wealth was harvested by trafficked West and Central Africans? Dekine’s poems travel across age and time, signaling that both the past and future exist in the present. Through erasure and persona, Dekine reimagines intergenerational traumas and calls institutions from the Works Progress Administration narratives to modern-day museums to task.
Beyond gospel music, fear, and the stories of generations past, Thresh & Hold offers magic, healing, and innovative pathways to manifest intimacy. Dekine remembers, remakes, and brings forth their many selves, traveling far in order to deeply connect to a spiritual home within and all around them, calling: “I am listening to Spirit. I am not dying today.”
Marlanda Dekine is the winner of the 2021 New Southern Voices Poetry Prize, judged by Gabrielle Calvocoressi.

Alicia Danielle Voss-Guillén, author of Price World Publishing’s Tori Series for middle grade readers, as well a previous short story (“One Winter Moment”) for Short Story Press, returns with another poignant tale of the difficulties and dilemmas imposed by impossible loves.
“A Final Kiss” relates the wedding day of Natalie St. John, an educated young woman from a wealthy New England family who must come to terms with the fact that she’s made a life altering mistake.
As an idealistic seventeen-year-old, Natalie meets and falls in love with Joey Renetti, a charming young waiter at a local Italian café. From the very beginning, it is evident to Natalie that the two are a match made in heaven. But Natalie’s uppity parents are far from being in agreement with their daughter.
Natalie’s mother insists that a life with a lower-class restaurant worker is not any kind of a future for a girl of Natalie’s breeding and social standing. She insists that her daughter meet and mingle with other young men. At first, Natalie is defensive of her relationship with Joey and goes to all lengths to protect it, even after she leaves home to attend a prestigious university.
But slowly and steadily time works it wiles, and Natalie’s parents succeed in driving a wedge between their daughter and the young man she truly loves. They are ecstatic when Natalie meets Adam Pennington, a well-to-do businessman and New England socialite who can provide their daughter with the finer things in life. Resigned to a future without Joey, Natalie embarks on a relationship with Adam, and the two soon become engaged. A mere month after Natalie’s graduation from university, the wedding will take place. But as the big day draws close, Natalie finds herself experiencing niggling doubts about Adam, and try as she might, she is unable to put Joey Renetti out of her mind.
