Summary

In a town that forgot how to ask questions, the past is screaming to be heard.

When journalist Ethan Coyle is assigned a throwaway piece on Mayfield’s infamous “Screaming Tunnel,” he expects a week of folklore, fake scares, and dead-end interviews. But what begins as a routine assignment soon unearths a buried network of lies, vanishing teens, and a ghost story too perfectly constructed to be accidental.

Old maps don’t match the tunnels. Surveillance footage vanishes. A scorched silver pendant seems to follow him. And beneath it all, an unrelenting sound—low, ancient, and human—begins to echo through his thoughts.

As Ethan digs deeper, every fact he uncovers chips away at the official story. The deeper he goes, the louder it gets. Until he realizes: the town’s legend isn’t protecting anyone. It’s masking something worse.

Why would a town preserve a lie that hurts them?

What happens when the scream no longer needs a myth to be heard?
