Sinopsis

Who would have thought that keeping chickens would ever become a lifestyle objective rather than, as was the case a few years ago, a hobby generally indulged in at the bottom of the garden by a few middle-aged men? While the fact that it has can only be a good thing, without a basic understanding of what chickens need in terms of daily care, the newcomer to the hobby is as likely to experience failure as he is success. Even the more experienced can always learn something new and this book caters for both. 
This practical, often anecdotal guide incorporates much of the author's 40 years experience as a chicken keeper, as well as taking advantage of the knowledge and experience of other, like-minded enthusiasts. Also included, either because of their relevance, or simply their ability to raise a wry smile, are several snippets taken from poultry books written during the first half of the 20th century.
