Sinopse

Love and politics dissipate like vapor in this satirical and cynical look at Russian expatriates in a German spa town. Turgenev skewers the pretensions and empty rhetoric of the intellectual elite with sharp, observational wit. Amidst the social games, a man finds himself haunted by a past passion that threatens to consume his future. It is a sophisticated exploration of the illusory nature of both social progress and romantic devotion.

"Sense and Sensibility" is the story of two sisters, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, who have contrasting temperaments. On the surface Elinor, the older sister represents sense or reason while Marianne represents sensibility or emotion, however upon closer examination we find that they both exhibit varying aspects of each characteristic. A classic coming of age story "Sense and Sensibility" was Jane Austen's first published novel.

Henrietta Dorothy Huskisson was born in January 1851 in Gillingham, Kent.
Little reliable information on her life is available and almost nothing on her early life.
The first concrete information concerns her marriage at age 18 to the solicitor Isaac Edward Everett.
It was only at the age of 44 that she began her literary career under the pseudonym of Theo Douglas, a popular device in a society that still frowned upon women writing for income.
During her lifetime she was a popular author and wrote 22 books and those were published by 17 different publishers.
Although she wrote some historical novels her main output was centered on fantasy and supernatural themes.
Henrietta Dorothy Everett died in Weston-on-Trent in Derbyshire in September 1923.

Torn between duty and passion, Archer struggles to make a decision that will either courageously define his life—or mercilessly destroy it.

    Description:
The Shadow Over Innsmouth is Lovecraft’s classic tale of a decaying seaside town bound to an ancient horror from the deep.
The story follows a traveler who visits the isolated port of Innsmouth, only to discover its inhabitants bear unsettling, amphibious traits — bulging eyes, flabby lips, and a strange, slinking gait. Through whispered rumors and a terrifying night on the run, he uncovers the truth: generations ago, the townsfolk struck a pact with the Deep Ones, an ancient ocean-dwelling race that offers wealth and longevity at a terrible cost.
As the narrator flees through collapsing streets and foggy wharves, pursued by inhuman figures emerging from the sea, he confronts a revelation far more disturbing than the town itself — one that ties his own fate to Innsmouth’s monstrous legacy.
Narrated by Amazon-bestselling horror author Jonathan Dunne, this public-domain classic is revived in a fresh, chilling performance. The Shadow Over Innsmouth remains a cornerstone of maritime horror and one of Lovecraft’s most enduring nightmares.

"Dear Old World, You Are Very Lovely, and I Am Glad to Be Alive in You."

When a skinny, freckled girl with a vivid imagination and a penchant for "big words" arrives at a quiet farm on Prince Edward Island, nothing will ever be the same. Anne of Green Gables is more than a story of a mistake—it is a celebration of the resilience of the human spirit and the magic that happens when we dare to see the world through a lens of wonder.

This edition captures the enduring magic of Montgomery's masterpiece:

The Power of "Kindred Spirits": Revisit the heart of the novel—the search for true belonging and the deep, soulful connections that turn strangers into family.

The Landscape of Avonelea: Immerse yourself in the lush, sensory descriptions of "The White Way of Delight" and "The Lake of Shining Waters," where nature itself is a character.

A Heroine for the Ages: Experience the wit and "scrapes" of Anne Shirley, a protagonist whose fierce independence and poetic soul have inspired generations of readers.

A Coming-of-Age Journey: Witness the poignant transition from childhood fancy to the responsibilities of young adulthood, all while keeping the "bent for romance" alive.

Lucy Maud Montgomery's prose is a masterclass in atmosphere and emotional depth. This volume is an essential cornerstone for any library of classic fiction, youth literature, and inspirational storytelling.
