Sinopsis

We all want to succeed; but unfortunately, success cannot be achieved by mere wishes. If you’ve had great dreams in the past that were later buried, because you lacked the knowledge needed to implement those ideas, don’t worry, a problem known is half solved already. I’ve been there; I know what it feels like, and that’s why I’ve written this book, to guide us on our way up, and most importantly to help us stay up: No one wants to fall, not after rising. Dreams birthed teaches us the importance of foresights, and how to reach the ultimate goal, which is success.

Show me a man that dreams, and I will tell you the heights that he will attain.

Does life have more to offer? What is the way to success?

This book answers all these questions; it is a load of knowledge, it’s not for everyone, but strictly for the brightest of minds, and success oriented people, and for non-dreamers as well, who will also learn to dream because there isn’t hope lost; it’s never too late, you only need to pay attention to every detail, which will be discussed in full. I believe we should all yearn for success. Never give up on dreams; and as long as we are ready to accommodate greatness by pursuing it, we'll surely get to it.

It might seem odd—a punk band introducing poetry into someone's life. But what if this lyrical influence was the reason you became a writer in the first place?

Days and Days weaves together two stories. One is a tale of friendship and self-discovery that occurs during a backpacking adventure through England, Scotland, and Ireland. The other celebrates the highly influential yet underestimated United Kingdom band Leatherface, a group that The Guardian called "the greatest British punk band of the modern era." Without so much as a single hostel booked, Chris MacDonald and his friend Jason cross the Atlantic. They sleep in train stations, endure a haunting on top of a volcano in Edinburgh, are driven out of Belfast by the IRA, and witness the mother of all storms. They also find themselves in the rehearsal space of their teenage punk idols, a building steeped in cultural significance for the Sunderland music scene.

Days and Days is about the silver thread that connects us even after drifting apart. It's a story about forgiveness and reflection, how beauty can be found within callous cladding. Leatherface band members, colleagues, and friends generously share personal insights that guide the listener into the melancholy, darkness, and humor that surround Sunderland's best-kept secret.

  • Hello (And Goodbye) To All That - A Memoir of a Changing New York in the 21st Century - cover

Hello (And Goodbye) To All That...

    Jonathan Liebson

Raised in suburban Chicago, Jonathan Liebson grew up hearing fabled stories about his father's childhood in New York. The Manhattan and Queens of his father's past, and the Lower East Side of his immigrant grandfather, always shimmered in the background—until one day Jonathan finally moved there himself. This was right on the cusp of the twenty-first century: the dawn of a new millennium. The city raced headlong into an era of cellphones, the internet, and many other unpredictable changes. Over time, New York would be wracked by 9/11, a Great Recession, a great hurricane, and a great pandemic—plus much more. Hello (and Goodbye) to All That is a memoir that recounts the indelible ties Jonathan would forge in his father's city, and his up-close view of profound historical episodes. The memoir plays off Joan Didion's famous essay "Goodbye to All That," where she describes the exciting yet fleeting experience of living in New York. In contrast, Jonathan's memoir provides a narrative about the city's permanence: it tells an intergenerational story of father and son that reveals a mutual connection to a constantly changing, often-troubled, yet still-dynamic city—and to the larger American history it comprises.

In this wise, warm-hearted, witty, and LOL hilariously funny true account, New York Times bestselling author Andrew Kaplan tells what it’s like when he, his wife, and two-year-old son decided to chuck it all and live the fantasy in a villa by the sea in that extraordinary corner of the world – part international café society, part billionaires’ playground, part provincial France – that is the French Riviera.
Whether it’s matching wits with French bureaucracy, searching for the perfect bouillabaisse, encounters with con men, eccentric ex-pats, and Monaco’s royal family, partying with the international set on Onassis’ yacht, playing chess with a philosophical police chief, or adventures and friendships with the rich and famous and the presumably standoffish French, Once Upon a Villa will transport you to a fascinating and shrewdly-observed world that you will savor like your first-morning bite of pain au chocolate.
So pour yourself a glass of wine, open the book, and Santé!

Before the Reign of Terror, Marie Antoinette was the last queen of France. She was the penultimate kid and youngest daughter of Empress Maria Theresa and Emperor Francis I, and was born an archduchess of Austria. At the age of 14, she wed Louis-Auguste, the beneficiary evident to the French throne, and ended up being dauphine of France in May 1770. Her partner, Louis XVI, took the throne on May 10, 1774, and she ended up being queen. After 8 years of marriage, Marie Antoinette's position at court enhanced when she started bearing kids. Nonetheless, she ended up being more out of favor amongst the people, with French "libelles" implicating her of being inefficient, promiscuous, holding compassions for France's perceived nemeses-- specifically her home Austria-- and having invalid kids. Her credibility was more tainted by the phony claims surrounding the Diamond Locket Affair. At the time of the Revolution, she was called Madame Déficit because of her elegant spending and enmity to Turgot and Necker's social and monetary reforms, which were blamed for the nation's monetary disaster.Learn more about Marie Antoinette by going through this book.
