Summary

Quantum Electronics is that discipline of Physics which dealswith the impact of quantum mechanics on the specific behaviorof electrons in elements or that of any matter. To get an indepth understanding of the quantum electronics as a whole, itis required that atomic physics, which studies and explains theinner workings of atoms in matter, has to be understood verywell. Atomic Physics is widely acclaimed as the most active ofthe testing grounds of the quantum theory and is rightly thefield of extensive research for both its contribution to quantumelectronics and technology in general, as well as for itscontribution to all physics fundamentally. Not only quantumelectronics, but a plethora of other disciplines are heavilyindebted to Atomic Physics in that regard, some of them arequantum chemistry, astrophysics, solid-state physics, laserphysics etc. According to one of the greatest pioneers ofquantum mechanics, Mr. Feynman, if for some reason, all theinformation regarding science that is known to man today hasto go except only one sentence that could be passed on to thenext generation of creatures, then the most important of allinformation to fit into that one sentence would be the idea ofatoms or atomic hypothesis / fact, whichever you want to callit - that describes little particles that are under constantmovement and attracting each other if apart and repelling eachother when squeezed- With a little bit of thinking andimagination applied to that one sentence, one can easily observethe huge information as well as the great evaluation madeabout our world! The primary task of Atomic Physics is todetermine the wave functions as well as the energies emittedout of the quantized electron, leaving everything else related tothe nucleus is left to Nuclear Physics to determine. So, forconcept building we need to put stress on the basics of atomicphysics before moving on the applications of QuantumElectronics.Generation and direct amplification of short laser pulses withhigh output energies requires the use of amplifiers and otherlarge-aperture components, which greatly increases the difficultiesencountered in construction of suitable systems and, in the finalanalysis, their cost. The progress made in the generation ofmaximum pulse intensities shows that the application ofenhancement and compression has raised the intensity ofchirped pulses. In the interaction of ultra-short pulses with solidtargets, the contrast of such pulses should be sufficiently highto ensure that plasma does not form before the main pulsearrives on a target. The contrast may be improved by severalfactors, which manifest themselves in different ways at differenttime intervals. On the microsecond scale, the contrast may bereduced by super-luminescence of laser amplifiers, which can beeliminated effectively by a variety of methods such as spatialfilters, optical switches.

In this bundle of 2 books in 1, you’ll find the following topics in the following titles:

Book 1 - I have often wondered if there would be a zombie outbreak like in the movie "I Am Legend" and even though this is not exactly the same, the rise of COVID-19 is the closest thing we know, I think.
In this book, we'll go through several aspects that have been reported of the virus. We'll go over some of the rules and guidelines many countries have set, and the reasons why those preventative measures have been imposed on the population.

Book 2 - It's inevitable to say that the Coronavirus, or Covid-19, more accurately, has done severe damage, both on the health and finances of people, businesses, hospitals, and entire nations. This book will focus on some of those horrific stories. Some of these things may have slightly inaccurate numbers, as is often the case with the news, and some may be exaggerated, but just understand that there's usually an element of truth in each, and that those consequences aren't to be overlooked.

    Reductionism in Art and Brain...

Are art and science separated by an unbridgeable divide? Can they find common ground? In this book, neuroscientist Eric R. Kandel, whose remarkable scientific career and deep interest in art give him a unique perspective, demonstrates how science can inform the way we experience a work of art and seek to understand its meaning. Kandel illustrates how reductionism—the distillation of larger scientific or aesthetic concepts into smaller, more tractable components—has been used by scientists and artists alike to pursue their respective truths. He draws on his Nobel Prize–winning work revealing the neurobiological underpinnings of learning and memory in sea slugs to shed light on the complex workings of the mental processes of higher animals.
In Reductionism in Art and Brain Science, Kandel shows how this radically reductionist approach, applied to the most complex puzzle of our time—the brain—has been employed by modern artists who distill their subjective world into color, form, and light. Kandel demonstrates through bottom-up sensory and top-down cognitive functions how science can explore the complexities of human perception and help us to perceive, appreciate, and understand great works of art.

Modern humans have come a long way in the seventy thousand years they’ve walked the earth. Art, science, culture, trade—on the evolutionary food chain, we’re true winners. But it hasn’t always been smooth sailing, and sometimes—just occasionally—we’ve managed to truly f*ck things up.Weaving together history, science, politics and pop culture, Humans offers a panoramic exploration of humankind in all its glory, or lack thereof. From Lucy, our first ancestor, who fell out of a tree and died, to General Zhou Shou of China, who stored gunpowder in his palace before a lantern festival, to the Austrian army attacking itself one drunken night, to the most spectacular fails of the present day, Humans reveals how even the most mundane mistakes can shift the course of civilization as we know it. Lively, wry and brimming with brilliant insight, this unique compendium offers a fresh take on world history and is one of the most entertaining reads of the year.
