Sinopsis

Immanuel Kant's "IMMANUEL KANT Premium Collection: Complete Critiques, Philosophical Works and Essays (Including Kant's Inaugural Dissertation)" presents a monumental compilation of his most influential texts that shaped modern philosophy. The collection encapsulates his critical philosophy, characterized by rigorous analytical reasoning, systematic exploration of metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, and aesthetics. This oeuvre demonstrates Kant'Äôs profound engagement with Enlightenment ideals, weaving an intricate tapestry that challenges readers to confront the limits of human reason while asserting the necessity of moral imperatives. His distinct style merges clarity with complexity, encouraging introspection alongside intellectual rigor. Kant, a pivotal figure of the Enlightenment, dedicated his scholarly life to elucidating the intricacies of knowledge, duty, and the nature of reality. His background in rationalism and empiricism deeply informed his philosophical inquiries, leading to groundbreaking works such as the "Critique of Pure Reason." Given the historical and intellectual context of his philosophy, Kant sought to navigate the turbulent waters of skepticism and provide foundations for science and morality that would resonate through generations. This collection is indispensable for students, scholars, and enthusiasts of philosophy, offering profound insights into the formation of Western thought. Kant's ability to provoke critical reflection makes this work a vital resource for anyone seeking to grasp the essential questions of existence and moral responsibility. Dive into this comprehensive anthology to experience the brilliance of Kant's philosophical legacy.

Ranging from the earliest Native American settlers to the presidency of Barack Obama, this Very Short Introduction offers an illuminating account of politics, diplomacy, and war as well as the full spectrum of social, cultural, and scientific developments that shaped our country.

Here is a masterful picture of America's achievements and failures, large-scale socio-historical forces, and pivotal events. Boyer sheds light on the colonial era, the Revolution, and the birth of the new nation; right up to the tragedy of 9/11, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the epoch-making election of Barack Obama. Certain broad trends shape much of the narrative—immigration, urbanization, slavery, continental expansion, the global projection of U.S. power, the centrality of religion, the progression from an agrarian to an industrial to a post-industrial economic order. Boyer also highlights the diversity of the American experience and the crucial role of race, ethnicity, gender, and social class in shaping the contours of specific groups within the nation's larger tapestry. And along the way, he touches upon the cultural milestones of American history, from Tom Paine's The Crisis to Allen Ginsberg's Howl.

American History: A Very Short Introduction is a panoramic history of the United States, one that covers virtually every topic of importance.

Born and educated in Indiana, Riley received his teacher's certificate and, later, graduated from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He served several Baptist churches in Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois before taking the pastorate at the First Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN, in 1897.
Father Divine (1876 - 1965), also known as Reverend Major Jealous Divine, was an African American spiritual leader from 1907 until his death. He founded the International Peace Mission movement, formulated its doctrine of economic independence and racial equality, and oversaw its growth from a small and predominantly black congregation into a multiracial and international church.

Osho explains that these sutras are concerned with aspects of man's unawareness and that Buddha's whole message is concerned with the raising of our consciousness. These sutras were compiled by Buddha's disciples to contain the essence of all his teachings. This was the last turning of the Wheel of Dharma, 2,500 years ago. At the beginning of his commentaries on these sutras, Osho says he is setting the Wheel of Dharma in motion again.
"Buddha transformed the word  meditation . Meditation had always been something of the mind, and Buddha brought a new quality, so totally new, diametrically opposite to the old meaning: He said, meditation means a state of no mind. It is not concentration; it is not contemplation. It is not thinking; it is not thinking about God. It is not even prayer - because thinking is of the head, intellectual; prayer is emotional. That is another side of the head, not very far away from it; a different language used by another part of the head." (Osho)
Talks are "meditating talks", allowing the listener an experience of meditation. "These words of Buddha come from eternal silence. They can reach you only if you receive them in silence."

Western civilization is generally regarded as the child of Athens, Jerusalem, and Rome. That is, in the West, our philosophical and political thought is derived from that of the ancient Greeks; our Christian religion comes from the Jewish religion, and both of these came to us via the Roman Empire.

Western society has other forefathers as well: we would be unwise to give the Byzantine Empire short shrift. The ways in which it has influenced our world for the good, and indeed, created the parameters of our society at its healthiest and strongest, are insufficiently appreciated today.

If the United States were to last as long as the Roman Empire, including its Byzantine period, it would have to continue as an independent country until the year 2899. To maintain a unified nation state for over eleven hundred years is a remarkable achievement by any standard, and the Romans accomplished it while facing existential threats and efforts to extinguish their polity during virtually every period of their existence. Now, nearly six hundred years after the demise of the empire, its influence still resonates in a number of fields.

There is no arguing with success. It's time we took notice.
