Sinopsis

The "IMMANUEL KANT Premium Collection" presents a meticulously curated selection of Kant's seminal works, offering readers a profound exploration into the realm of metaphysics, ethics, and epistemology. This compilation showcases Kant's distinctive literary style, characterized by rigorous argumentation and a systematic approach that seeks to reconcile empirical observations with rational insights. Engaging with concepts such as the categorical imperative and the limits of human understanding, the collection situates itself within the larger context of the Enlightenment, illuminating the profound shifts in philosophical thought that continue to resonate through contemporary debates in philosophy, science, and politics. Immanuel Kant (1724-1804), a pivotal figure in Western philosophy, emerged from the Enlightenment period, a time marked by a fervent quest for knowledge and autonomy. His experiences in Königsberg, coupled with the scientific advancements of his time, shaped his inquiries into human reason and moral law. Kant's philosophical inquiries were not merely abstract; they were deeply rooted in the societal and intellectual challenges of his era, reflecting his commitment to addressing the ethical imperatives of human society amidst emerging modernity. This premium collection is essential for both philosophy enthusiasts and scholars alike, offering invaluable insights into Kant's contributions that laid the groundwork for modern thought. Readers will find not only a comprehensive understanding of Kantian philosophy but also a rich tapestry of ideas that invite critical reflection on morality, freedom, and the role of reason in human existence.

These works articulate the most fundamental principles of Kant’s ethical and political world-view. “What is Enlightenment?” (1784) and Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Morals (1785) were written in the period between the American Revolution and the French Revolution.

Taken together they challenge all free people to think about the requirements for self-determination both in our individual lives and in our public and private institutions. Kant’s Fundamental Principles of the Metaphysics of Morals is dedicated to the proposition that all people can know what we need to know to be honest, good, wise, and virtuous. The purpose of Kant’s moral philosophy is to help us become aware of the principles that are already contained within us. Innocence and dependence must be replaced with wisdom and good will if we are to avoid being vulnerable and misguided. According to Kant, freedom of thought leads naturally to freedom of action.

When that happens, governments begin to treat human beings, not as machines, but as persons with dignity. Immanuel Kant begins Toward Lasting Peace by contrasting the realism of practical politicians with the high-minded theories of philosophers who “dream their sweet dreams.” His opening line provides a grim reminder that the only alternative to finding a way to avoid the war of each against all is the lasting peace of the graveyard. The advent of total war and the development of nuclear weapons in the twentieth century give Kant’s reflections an urgency he could not have anticipated. Kant published this work in 1795, during the aftermath of the American Revolution and the French Revolution.

The Aksumite Empire was one of the most significant and influential civilizations of ancient Africa. Emerging around the first century AD, it became a powerful and sophisticated state that played a crucial role in connecting diverse cultures and trade networks across continents. Its strategic location, bridging the Red Sea and the interior of the African continent, allowed Aksum to flourish as both a political and economic hub, facilitating exchanges between the Mediterranean world, the Arabian Peninsula, and beyond.
At the heart of Aksum’s success was its remarkable ability to integrate various cultural and economic influences. The empire was not only a center for commerce but also a melting pot of traditions, languages, and beliefs. This rich cultural mosaic is reflected in its unique art, architecture, and inscriptions, which have provided modern scholars with invaluable insights into the life and achievements of this ancient society. The monuments and stelae scattered across the landscape serve as enduring testaments to the empire's power and its sophisticated understanding of both artistry and engineering.
The rise of Aksum was deeply intertwined with the development of its political structures and the establishment of a centralized administration. Early rulers of the empire forged alliances through both diplomacy and military might, thereby securing their territories against external threats and internal discord. As the state grew in power, it adopted innovative approaches to governance that balanced traditional practices with the demands of a rapidly expanding empire. These innovations laid the groundwork for what would later be recognized as the first Christian kingdom in Africa.

The world is not as we think it is. We are taught standard accepted beliefs from birth and many of them are not correct or a misunderstanding of the truth.
Who am I to say so? At this writing I’m nearly seventy years old and I’ve spent my life observing reality as an engineer and explorer of the unknown.
I’ve had many weird and paranormal experiences and done lots of research. Many patterns have made themselves known to me and this is why I make these types of statements.
This book is an effort to shed light on these misunderstandings and change your perception of the world we live in.
Much of what I will relate is based on my subjective experiences and research many would say does not conform to the accepted scientific method yet you will see that my observations make a lot of common sense.
Some of these concepts have been around for thousands of years but are not commonly accepted today. My effort is to show you why these ideas are likely true and how these concepts also are built on to provide new understandings.
At the end of each chapter logic is provided on how general belief in these new ideas will change humanity.
My hope is that by the end of this book you the reader will open your mind more about many things which are strange but possibly true.

Colonialism: A Global History interprets colonialism as an unequal relationship characterized by displacement and domination and reveals the ways in which this relationship has been constitutive of global modernity.

The volume focuses on colonialism's dynamism, adaptability, and resilience. It appraises a number of successive global colonial 'waves', each constituting a specific form of colonial domination, each different from the previous ones, each affecting different locales at different times, and each characterized by a particular method of exploiting colonized populations and territories. Outlining a succession of distinct colonizing conjunctures, and the ways in which they 'washed over' what is today understood as the 'Global South', shaping and reshaping institutions and prompting diverse responses from colonized communities, Colonialism: A Global History also outlines the contemporary relevance of this unequal relation. Overall, it provides an original definition of colonialism and tells the global history of this mode of domination’s evolution and reach.

The broad chronological and geographical scope makes this volume the ideal resource for all students and scholars interested in globalization, colonialism, and empire.
