Summary

The aim of this research is to present the description of the prayer of the Prophet peace be upon him so that it can be coolness of the eyes for the one who performs it and act as light for the believer. The objective of this research is to explain how the Prophet peace be upon him used to perform his prayers. I would like to present this research to every female and male Muslim so that they may strive to adopt the Prophet’s manner of performing their prayers as a model for them. This research will identify the best evidences through literature review conducted utilizing the Qur’an and authentic Ahaadith (narrations) as well as the works of classical Muslim scholars from Ahlul Sunnah found on Islamic softwares such Al-Maktabah Ash-Shamelah library database and Al-Ihsan Islamic University e-library. I will utilize the best methodological review analyzing the best evidences for the topic and presenting them according to the original sources -  the Qur’an and the authentic Hadith following the best early generations in creed, methodology, understanding and manners. It presents the fiqh of the four leading Imams of the four madhab inclusively; Imam Abu Hanifah, Imam Malik, Imam Shaf’i and Imam Ahmad. It summaries the works of the well-reputed leading noble scholars of Ahlul Sunnah in the world. A detailed Arabic search strategy was developed and revised correctly for the following electronic databases: Al-Maktaba Ash-Shamelah, MEDIU Library Catalogue, Al-Imam Ibn Baz website, Ibn Othaimeen website and Al-Ihsan Islamic University E-Library database for the time period 2019, utilizing Arabic and English text from established sources. A comprehensive Arabic and English search strategy was undertaken using more specific terms such as ‘The description of the Prophet’s Prayer’ “Khushu in Salah” “ Fiqh As-Sunnah” and ‘Fiqh of Salah’ as well as “Fiqh al –Ibadah”  to identify scholarly works for inclusion in this review. The search strategy consisted of combinations of key terms and inclusion and exclusion criteria. Relevant academic English books were also reviewed. A summary of more than 30 reviewed books and scholarly articles identified by designated terms. The objective of selecting to conduct my thesis in the description of prayer is because Allah has created humans to worship Him alone and since the foundation of worship and the pillar of faith is the prayer, I conducted research on it. I placed purification before prayer because it is a prerequisite of the prayer and the prerequisite should come prior to that for which it is a prerequisite. This work consists of a beneficial chapter titled purification/tahara. The Prophet peace be upon him stated that a Muslim is not impure and it is stated in the Qur'an that verily the non-Muslim are najis/impure. The believer’s creed is also pure because he is submitting to Allah. The next following beneficial chapter is about the prayer according to how the Prophet peace be upon him prayed illustrating his prayer.
