Sinopsis

Clarity Matters explores the vital connection between clear writing and persuasive communication, focusing on essays and letters. The book emphasizes that clarity isn't just about avoiding jargon, but strategically using language to resonate with your audience. For example, effective analogies can transform complex ideas into easily understandable concepts. It also highlights the importance of organizing ideas logically to maximize their impact, drawing from principles of rhetoric and communication studies.

The book uniquely blends theory with practical exercises, offering concrete techniques to improve writing skills, essential for anyone from students to professionals. Each section builds upon the last, starting with linguistic precision and progressing through logical organization to audience awareness.

The book uses examples from classic and contemporary works to illustrate how skilled writers achieve clarity and persuasion, making it a valuable resource for enhancing your ability to communicate effectively.

The Thirteen Pillars is the first book in the Doctrine of Discipline series. It is not self-help. It is doctrine.
Author and combat veteran Shawn C. O'Neil studied thirty-nine historical exemplars across 2,500 years of warfare, philosophy, science, and leadership to answer one question: what are the actual operating principles the most disciplined people in history share?
The result is thirteen pillars. Each pillar contains a law. Not a suggestion. Not a guideline. A law — non-negotiable, observable, repeatable.
Where David Goggins gave testimony, this book gives architecture. Where Jocko Willink wrote tactical leadership, this book goes deeper into the philosophical root system underneath it. Where Jordan Peterson built meaning through mythology, this book tests those frameworks in real historical lives. Where Ryan Holiday studied Stoicism from the outside, this book is written from inside the tradition by someone who lived it. Where John C. Maxwell codified the laws of leadership, this book codifies the laws of discipline that leadership requires.
The thirty-nine figures span combat, resistance movements, philosophy, governance, science, and art. Marcus Aurelius. Frederick Douglass. Harriet Tubman. Viktor Frankl. Nikola Tesla. Miyamoto Musashi. Some are famous. Several are deliberately obscure because the unknown exemplars carry the clearest signal. They built discipline to survive, not to perform.
This is a book about order, standards, and building a life that holds under pressure. It is written for men who are done with motivation and ready for doctrine.
The Thirteen Pillars. Builds the Man.
Available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook from Black Haus Publishing.

A fresh take on the loss memoir, PIECEY BY PIECE follows a middle-aged mother forced to reconcile the theft of precious keepsakes with the memories and people the items represent.
If things are “just things,” why does it hurt so deeply when we lose them?
When a home burglary strips Kim Danielson of heirlooms and other special keepsakes, she loses more than the items themselves. She is also robbed of tangible connections to her history, and physical reminders of loved ones who have died—igniting grief both old and new. Feeling the weight of disappointment for future generations who cannot inherit a piece of her family’s legacy, Kim creates a new and lasting heirloom, one that can never be stolen.
Perfect for anyone who has ever lost anything of meaningful value, this book provides solace and a new perspective on material possessions. A practical template for preserving a legacy with or without artifacts, PIECE BY PIECE offers a unique take on loss through the lens of stolen objects and invites readers to tell the stories of their lives by telling the stories of their things.

In this startling candid and poignant memoir, the legendary Emmy Award-winning star of The Young and The Restless, America's #1 soap opera, chronicles his amazing life, from his birth in World War II Germany to his arrival in America to his rise to humanitarian and daytime superstar for the past thirty-five years.
For nearly four decades, fans have welcomed the star of television’s number-one daytime show, The Young and the Restless, into their living rooms. While they’ve come to know and love the suave Victor Newman, few truly know the man behind the character, the supremely talented Eric Braeden. I'll Be Damned is his story—a startling and uplifting true tale of war, deprivation, determination, fame, and social commitment that spans from Nazi Germany to modern Hollywood.
Braeden’s journey from a hospital basement in Kiel to the soundstages of Los Angeles has taught him more about joy, heartbreak, fear, dignity, loss, love, loneliness, exhilaration, courage, persecution, and profound responsibility to the global community than he could have hoped to learn in several lifetimes. Growing up in the years after Germany’s defeat, Braeden knew very little about the atrocities of his parents’ generation, until he arrived in America as a teenager—a discovery that horrified and transformed him. Trying to redress the wrongs of his homeland, he has dedicated his life to humanitarian work—even forming the German American Culture Society—working for decades to show the world that what we share as humans is far more important than what separates us from one another.
Told with openness, candor, humor, heart, and occasional raw vulnerability, I’ll Be Damned reveals a man committed to making the world a better, more loving place. I’ll Be Damned will be a treasured keepsake for Y&R fans, and is an inspiring testament to the goodness within us all.

This is the inspiring and terrifying tale of one man’s journey to the Middle East to save his child from radical Islam.
Dimitri Bontinck lived every parent’s worst nightmare: his teenage son, introduced to Islam by his girlfriend, fell into the clutches of a radical mosque. Dimitri watched helplessly as his son Jay transformed from a gentle boy to a soldier in training, wearing traditional robes and following a strict diet. Completely brainwashed, Jay snuck out of the house and traveled to Syria, all but vanishing. Too late, Dimitri learned that their country, Belgium, was the leading hotbed of Islamic radicalization. Large numbers of teenagers were being lured into this world and expertly indoctrinated into radical Islam. One by one, they disappeared into the Middle East, most never to be seen again.
With no one to help him, Dimitri—a white, Christian-raised atheist—set off on his own to save his son. Using only his military training, a lot of courage, and a little luck, he gradually made contacts in the Middle East and, after months of searching, was able to find his son and bring him home. The world was shocked at his unprecedented success, and he started receiving pleas from families around the world, asking that he get their children back, as well. Increasingly fearful for his own life but unable to ignore these cries for help, Dimitri accepted his newfound role as the jihadi hunter.
