Assisted by her thread enthusiasts club and the handsome textile chemist analyzing fiber compositions, Spoolia uncovers a scheme involving thread counterfeiting, stolen color formulas, and a plot to manipulate the thread market. From suspicious tensile strength variations that reveal inferior materials to dye lots that don't match factory records, every unwound spool tells a story. But when Spoolia discovers the victim was systematically sabotaging small thread companies by stealing their signature colors, she realizes the killer is protecting a textile tradition more valuable than any corporate profit.
