The police suspect a tragic shelving collapse, but Berry notices the broken jars form a suspicious pattern and the victim's clipboard contains coded notes about local farm violations. With her organic status suspended and her business in jeopardy, Berry must preserve her reputation by solving the case. Assisted by her gardening club friends and the handsome local extension agent, Berry uncovers a plot involving pesticide fraud, fake organic labels, and a black market for heirloom seeds. From suspicious seal patterns that indicate tampering to jam colors that reveal unusual ingredients, every preserved clue points toward a killer with deep roots in the farming community. But when Berry discovers the victim was about to expose a conspiracy that threatened every small farm in the county, she realizes the killer is someone she's traded recipes with for years. With the Harvest Festival approaching and the real culprit still canning their schemes, Berry must jar the truth loose before she becomes the next preserved piece of evidence.
