Sinopse

Famous for his pseudonym ‘Sapper’, H. C. McNeile drew on his experiences in the trenches during the First World War for his war stories and novels. His most famous creation is Bulldog Drummond, an ex-British Army Captain turned crime-fighting gentleman vigilante. McNeile’s stories are either directly about the war or feature characters whose lives have been shaped by the conflict. In later years, his work shifted into the genre of thrillers, featuring upper class Englishmen defending England from foreigners plotting against it. This eBook presents McNeile’s collected works, with numerous illustrations, rare texts, informative introductions and the usual Delphi bonus material. (Version 1)

In the sleepy, scenic Southern Highlands of New South Wales, a beautiful young woman goes missing.

Six years later, recently divorced historian Rose McHugh leaves the city to start a new life in the Highlands and finds a roll of film buried in her back garden. On it are photos of the missing woman. Against the advice of an enigmatic detective, she uses her powers of persuasion and her knack for deciphering clues to pursue the case. As Rose searches through tangled secrets and hidden places haunted by the past, she realises there is a killer at large. As she makes new friends, and dangerous enemies, Rose closes in on a suspect-but will she solve the mystery too late to save herself?

Set in the atmospheric villages and forests of the Southern Highlands, Echo Lake is a compulsive read that will keep you guessing until the very end.

'As cosy as it is compulsive, Sauers brings the eerie beauty of winter in the Southern Highlands to life. A highly recommended, vivid read!' JACQUELINE BUBLITZ, author of Leave the Girls Behind

'Not just a whodunnit, Echo Lake also contemplates what makes for a good life, reminds the reader of the importance of historical truth and throws in a ghost story for good measure.' MARYROSE CUSKELLY, author of The Cane

'Move over Miss Marple. With its indefatigable heroine, mist-shrouded setting, cast of quirky characters and as many trips to the pub as there are mysteries to solve, Echo Lake is cosy crime at its dynamic, atmospheric best - and Sauers is certainly a writer to watch.' ANNA DOWNES, author of The Shadow House

'Full of atmosphere; the very landscape echoes both freedom and foreboding. Rose McHugh, middle-aged and newly single, is a convincing, compelling and intelligent protagonist who stumbles onto a mystery and won't let it go.' VIKKI PETRAITIS, author of The Unbelieved

🍲 When the town's most competitive cook, Betty Crockwell, collapses face-first into her famous green bean casserole at the annual church potluck, everyone assumes it's a tragic accident. But café owner and amateur chef Daisy Dish suspects foul play when she notices the casserole tastes... unusual. With the police dismissing her concerns and the town eager to move on, Daisy must take matters into her own oven mitts. Teaming up with the church's new young pastor and her gossipy baking club, Daisy investigates a simmering pot of small-town rivalries, secret recipes, and long-buried resentments. From a suspiciously perfect pie crust to a casserole dish that doesn't match the victim's usual set, every culinary clue points toward a killer who knows their way around a kitchen. But as Daisy gets closer to the truth, the killer serves up a warning: a threatening note tucked into her own recipe box. Now Daisy must uncover which of her neighbors added a deadly ingredient to the potluck before she becomes the next course on the menu.

Watch out Montreal. You're in for a fiery ride.

Life's pleasures used to be so simple: a fast ride on my motorcycle, a backyard barbeque with my siblings, and taking down criminals to safeguard Montreal's citizens.

Sadly, those days ended the moment my fiery side emerged.

I'm a fire elemental. Mind blown.

The deadly Poreskoro family wants to feed on my fae essence. Rude. And if they succeed, they'll gain the strength to rebuild their army of evil. Terrifying.

Demons, drug lords, and deception I can handle, but when a dark storm of danger falls over my family, things have gone too far.

With evil brewing, enemies running rampant, and fae criminals gunning for me and my family, I widen my stance and get ready for the hits. Who's manipulating things behind the scenes? Who's coming after the people I care about? And who the hell is stupid enough to think I'd let it happen?

    A long-buried government secret is out...and it's angry!
In 1962, Sergeant Trent Wilkins looked forward to finishing out his military contract pulling guard duty on the underground bunker built into a field in the small town of Schertz, Texas. Little did he know, he was about to get sucked into a government cover up of the murder of one of their own top research specialists. Fifty-two years later, the secret they tried so hard to bury escaped seeking revenge on those involved.
Colonel Louis Reed sought to profit from what the Air Force found in that field all those years ago, and it was working. But now, following a massive explosion beneath the Samuel Clemens football field, he and his fellow conspirators find themselves in danger. ‘It’ was out and coming to get them.
Danny Edwards and Jay Hernandez thought high school was hard, but after being gassed by an unknown entity, and seeing shocking blue orbs flying over their hometown, they knew tougher times were ahead. Danny’s grandfather has a secret, and that secret puts him and his best friend, Jay, and the girl he loves in danger. Schertz is under attack, and no one is coming to help them, least of all, the military who’ve surrounded the city cutting off all exits and entries as they advance on the deadly, sulfuric creatures invading the sleepy suburb.
Time is running out fast. Can three teenagers and one old man save the city of Schertz from extinction?
