Beschreibung

The Time Machine is a 1895 science fiction novella by H. G. Wells. It is credited with popularizing the idea of time travel and is considered one of the greatest science fiction novels ever written.
The story is about a scientist who builds a time machine and travels to the future. He discovers that humanity has devolved into two races: the childlike Eloi and the monstrous Morlocks.

The Morlocks are a humanoid species that are descended from humans, particularly low-class underground machine operators. They are subterranean and prefer dark, as their eyes are sensitive to light. In most timelines, the Morlocks eat their Eloi cousins.
The story explores a dystopian vision of humanity's future and the author's angst about individual/industrial relations.

The Time Machine is associated with five main genres, including science fiction, time travel fiction, and scientific romance. The average reader will spend 1 hour and 28 minutes reading this book at 250 WPM (words per minute).

A brutal head injury makes the past a swirling fog, so she is reliant on the girl—her precocious daughter Anissa—to guide them. She must return Anissa to the Tribes-under-the-Dome to keep her safe from warring and vicious tribes inhabiting the wasted landscape.

Every group they shelter with along the way sees something different when they look at Peace-in-the-Sky—a god, a savior, a valuable commodity, a volatile danger. She doesn't know herself, but soon realizes she can protect Anissa with the scorching power of the pillars-of-flame. Only her tender love for Anissa and her mission to return the girl home to the Tribes-under-the-Dome matter. As her body grows weaker, not even the inexorable unraveling mystery of who, or what, Peace-in-the-Sky really is can deflect her from the task.

"Honor is the true measure of a man." On this principle I built a powerful empire, united disparate lands, and destroyed the greatest threat to our world. I died as a true warrior should: in battle. But instead of being granted a well-earned rest, I awoke on the border of a foreign kingdom, in the body of a noble-born outcast—with a noose around my neck.Never mind if all that remains of my former greatness is a memory. Give me any backwater farm and I will turn it into a formidable stronghold! Give me any scruffy band of scoundrels and they will become the backbone of my new army! My experience, my knowledge, and my memories remain with me.Still, time is pressing. In the forests of this world, I encounter old foes: the same creatures that once nearly destroyed my kingdom. They have infiltrated even here. And only I, who know their nature, can stop them before it is too late. A new empire must rise, or this world will fall.
