Wells in which humanity is "exalted" when a comet causes "the nitrogen of the air, the old azote," to "change out of itself" and become "a respirable gas, differing indeed from oxygen, but helping and sustaining its action, a bath of strength and healing for nerve and brain." The result: "The great Change has come for evermore, happiness and beauty are our atmosphere, there is peace on earth and good will to all men."

"Little Bun Rabbit" is the twenty-second and final tale in L. Frank Baum's 1897 collection Mother Goose in Prose.
Dorothy is a farm girl who is allowed to roam the local meadows and woods and play to her heart's content. She has the rare ability to understand and speak the language of the animals. The kind-hearted child makes friends with Bun Rabbit, and learns about his life and experiences. Bun Rabbit once modeled for Santa Claus, so that Santa could make stuffed bunnies for "the babies" to play with. The rabbit had traveled with Santa to his castle at the North Pole, and stayed for several days to admire Santa's craftsmanship. While there, the bunny was fed clover, turnips, and sliced cabbage by old Mother Hubbard, who keeps house (or castle) for Santa. The toy bunnies Santa created in Bun Rabbit's likeness were so accurate that Bun almost mistook one for a live creature.
Bun Rabbit chose to walk home from the North Pole, to see the countryside; Santa equipped him with a magic collar that kept the rabbit from harm. The collar melted away and disappeared once Bun Rabbit reached home.

Leighlin Road - A Memoir

This memoir tells the story of the first twenty-one years of my life, growing up and coming of age in the working class Dublin Corporation housing estate of Crumlin.
 
Although humorous when telling my tale, the book also includes stories of abuse, death and loss. The chapters unfold from my unlikely birth – the youngest of fifteen children – to Crumlin life, the death of my brother Paddy in a London road accident and the abuse I suffered through a 'Christian' Brother at school. From a little boy priest in Blackrock College and then as an apprentice projectionist in the Kenilworth Cinema and a year as clapper/loader in Ardmore Studios. The story goes on through my difficult teenage years of alienation from my father and his death at the age of seventy, a month before my 21st birthday and a few months before my marrying my pregnant 18-year-old girlfriend. That marked the end of my life in 147, Leighlin Road and the start of my life as a married man and father-to-be.
 
This book will be of interest to anyone of a Dublin/Irish heritage who will understand my journey. Back in my day emigration, particularly to England, was part of Irish life and that is reflected in my story. 
 
I am an experienced storyteller and now I am finally telling my own story of the years that formed the man I am today.
