Sinopsis
George Roberts of Virginia is a captain without a ship. But when he meets his charismatic friend Ned Low, and they share a glass or two, he realizes the next day that he’s signed on as first mate for a voyage to retrieve a fortune in gold. Writing in a variety of genres during the golden age of the pulps, and heavily influenced by Alexandre Dumas, Henry James O’Brian Bedford-Jones was enormously prolific - writing nearly 200 novels, 400 novelettes, and 800 short stories. This story is a standout for several reasons. The plucky woman on board is anything but a damsel in distress. Themes of redemption and honor feature significantly. But rest assured, there’s plenty of action – it is a pirate story, after all!
