Sinopsis

Each of us was destined to have the ultimate life. But for many of us, that dream was taken away in the heat of battle. We had the privilege of serving our countries, getting the best training possible, living and fighting alongside some of the best friends we will ever have. Destined for greatness and proving it everyday in the field of battle. Until those exact situations we were so proud to be a part of, doing our sacred duty, led us to injury, PTSD. Sometimes worse.

It left many of us broken.

How to get back from that remains a mystery to many.

But what if there is a way out? What if there is a way to reclaim our lives and not just live them, but indulge in them and live them to the fullest?

Over 20 years ago I was injured by a combatant hand grenade. I lay blind in the hospital, and was told that I’d never see again. Or if I’m lucky, I’ll see through one eye but not for long. The nightmares told me a much scarier story.

And the surgeries were excruciatingly painful.

But I made it out of there, I reclaimed my life, travelled the world, built businesses, moved countries, and even got married and have amazing kids.

It took me over 20 years to understand what I did and how I made it through.

And when I did, I immediately realised that I could help many more.

I’m not a psychologist, doctor, guru, or any other “professional”.

I just want to share my story, my tips, and my step-by-step action plan that anyone can use to build the life of their dreams.

This book is dedicated to the warriors with PTSD. and the people who love them.

A Most Anticipated Book of 2023 from: LA Times * Boston Globe * The Millions * LitHub * Shondaland
By the New York Times bestselling author of the award-winning AFTERPARTIES comes a collection like none other: sharply funny, emotionally expansive essays and linked short fiction exploring family, queer desire, pop culture, and race
The late Anthony Veasna So’s debut story collection, Afterparties, was a landmark publication, hailed as a “bittersweet triumph for a fresh voice silenced too soon” (Fresh Air). And he was equally known for his comic, soulful essays, published in n+1, The New Yorker, and The Millions.
Songs on Endless Repeat gathers those essays together, along with previously unpublished fiction. Written with razor-sharp wit and an unflinching eye, the essays examine his youth in California, the lives of his refugee parents, his intimate friendships, loss, pop culture, and more. And in linked fiction following three Cambodian American cousins who stand to inherit their late aunt’s illegitimate loan-sharking business, So explores community, grief, and longing with inimitable humor and depth.
Following “one of the most exciting contributions to Asian American literature in recent years” (Vulture), Songs on Endless Repeat is an astonishing final expression by a writer of “extraordinary achievement and immense promise” (The New Yorker).

Born in poverty-stricken Albania, twin sisters Argita and Detina Zalli always dreamed of becoming doctors. Their parents scrimped and sacrificed, committed to giving them a better life. But then the unthinkable happened. In 1997, the government collapsed, plunging the country into anarchy and civil war. The twins' dream unraveled along with their homeland. Their parents had to find a way to leave and save their daughters' futures—not to mention their very lives.

It took over two years for the Zalli family to escape. After several dangerous attempts, they finally made it to England, where the thirteen-year-old twins believed everything would be much better. They soon found out otherwise. Now refugees, with little more than the clothes on their backs, the girls were mercilessly bullied and constantly afraid they would be sent back to Albania, and their parents would be sent to jail. Still, the twins persevered and learned how to navigate their harsh new reality. When tragedy struck yet again, the girls had to come to terms with the high price they had all paid to survive.

In Good Morning, Hope, Argita and Detina share their harrowing story of courage and resilience. It was the strength of their family, particularly the sisters' unique, unbreakable bond as twins, that nurtured and sustained them throughout their perilous ordeal.

He said the dreaded words, "I give you two years to live," and my heart froze in time.
“Thank you for this most amazing, inspiring book; it is a very treasured read. It made me do a lot of thinking and helped me come to terms with things in my life.” ~ Bernadette Longu, Readers’ Favorite Books Reviews (5 STARS)
“This memoir is a precious life lesson for me as it made me realize that a mother’s strength is unimaginable and that my legacy shouldn’t be about the trouble I caused but about the good I could do.” ~ Emma Megan, Readers’ Favorite Books Reviews (5 STARS)
I have four young kids. To not see them grow up, start their careers, get married… those thoughts seemed unfathomable. "I'm only in my 30s. You can fix this. Can't you?" I'd made so many plans.
"No. I'm sorry, Elisa. We can't."
My breath evaded me, like I already needed the ventilator—the damn life support. I wouldn't die in a car crash or some freak accident. Nope. I knew what would kill me; I just didn't know when it would happen.
The night I met Mike, an infamous bachelor, I couldn't imagine that years later I'd be battling for my life as he helped raise my four children. Yet, there we were. It was slow at first, but my view on life reverted to something it had been years before. It wasn't until I started modeling in hospital gowns, fiddling for terminal patients, and taking my kids on outlandish adventures that I discovered how to truly live again. But, despite handling so much with grace and trying to build a legacy for my family, could that reconcile the most devastating of diagnoses?
EVOLVED PUBLISHING PRESENTS a most personal memoir of one courageous woman's battle with cancer, and her determination to make the most of whatever time she has left, including her powerful mission to help others facing a similar battle.

What if you were destined to do great things, but fate had something else in store for you? Such was the life of Louis-Napoleon, Prince Imperial…
Lost in the pages of history, this story – filled with aspirations, the desire to prove oneself, and bravery in the face of overwhelming odds – brings the life of Louis-Napoleon, the great-nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte and the son of Emperor Napoleon III, back into the limelight.
In this book, you will discover:A historically-accurate retelling of the life of the Last Napoleon – a fascinating account of promise tangled with fate, forgotten in time,How Napoleon III’s family started a new life of exile in Camden Place, Chislehurst, UK, after the disastrous impact of the Franco-Prussian warThe young prince’s military education in the UK that was all part of the plans thrust on him to achieve greatness and fulfil his destiny,The intertangled relationship with Queen Victoria, including marriage plans with the British Royal family,The lure into Bonapartist politics of France that sought to use this young man’s famous name. His own ambitions to prove his military credentials which led to pressure for him to deploy, as a young French prince, with the British Army to the Anglo-Zulu war in South Africa.
Finally, the story recounts in detail the fateful last patrol, and its deadly consequences. It includes the detailed accounts of the Zulu warriors involved. Some of these accounts were brought to light by research well after the fact. They attest to the bravery of this young man, massively outnumbered, who by Zulu accounts “Fought like a lion’ in a short savage engagement that could only have one outcome.
This book is a must-have for anyone interested in 19th-century European history, especially the French Imperial family and the Napoleon legacy.
