“Engaging and empowering.” —STARRED review, Nonstop Reader

A charming early chapter book series that explores Vietnamese culture and identity through the eyes of the Nguyen siblings, with elements of the supernatural, spirituality, and social justice woven in.

Organized and introspective nine-year-old Anne Nguyen misses her Grandma Nội, a lot. But even though Grandma Nội passed away, it doesn’t mean she’s disappeared.

When Anne and her younger siblings Jacob and Liz are given gifts passed on to them by Grandma, Anne soon realizes that hers—a beautiful jade bangle—has a secret power. One that might just give her the strength to stand up to her ballet teacher, who treats her differently than her white classmates, and embrace her Vietnamese identity through cooking Grandma’s recipes. No matter how difficult things get, Anne learns that the love of her ancestors is always with her.

The words were beautiful, but the lessons felt so big, so deep, and sometimes so hard to understand as a child. I wished someone would just sit beside me and explain those stories in a way my young mind could actually connect with… gently, simply, and with warmth.
That’s exactly why this audiobook was created.
Inside, your child will discover meaningful Qur’anic stories brought to life in a way that’s easy to follow and impossible to forget:
    ● The proud man and his two gardens — a lesson in gratitude and humility before Allah
    ● The young believers in the cave, standing firm in faith even when everyone else turned away
    ● Prophet Musa’s mother, trusting Allah’s plan as the river carried her baby to safety
    ● The kind man who shared his meal with a hungry dog, discovering how compassion brings unexpected blessings
    ● Prophet Ayyub, showing how patience and gratitude shine even when everything seems lost
    ● Prophet Ibrahim’s unshakeable bravery, choosing truth and faith over fear, no matter the cost
    ● Calming narration with an arabic accent crafted to hold attention and inspire peaceful reflection
Whether your child is hearing these stories for the first time or has heard them many times before, they’ll gain something new, comforting, and beautiful from every listen.

A hilariously creepy middle grade novel from award-winning author Caleb Roehrig!
Poe has spent his whole life wishing he could meet a ghost, but when he moves into a real-life haunted house, he discovers that communing with the other side might be a little more than he bargained for.
Twelve-year-old Edgar Alden, also known as “Poe,” has always been an outcast. Obsessed with the macabre, he’s never remotely hit it off with other kids. Only Grandma ever really understood his love for the supernatural, but when she dies and his parents move into a dilapidated house on the other side of town, things for Poe quickly go from bad to worse.
You see, Poe has a roommate. A dead one. A 12-year-old ghost named Violet, who’s been stuck haunting Poe’s room for longer than she can remember. Violet is territorial, kind of annoying, and tethered to the human world by her doll, Baby Jessica.
But Poe quickly discovers that Violet isn’t the only spirit haunting his house. There’s a vengeful, violent entity in his basement. And it’s up to Poe to find a way to help them both cross to the other side.
Creepy Kid is a heartfelt but page-turning exploration of grief, moving on, and finding one’s place in the world—sure to make middle grade readers laugh, cry, and wonder about the mysteries that might lie on the other side.
