Sinopsis

Avadhuta Gita is a short work of ancient Vedic religious literature, written in Sanskrit “devanagari” (city of the gods), much appreciated in India by initiated Yogis and by those who are advanced in the spiritual path, but little known outside that sacred land. Nevertheless it can be considered for elevation and sublime significance a masterpiece of relevance comparable to the great texts listed as authentic cultural heritage of Humanity. Handed down orally from remote times, it was composed in uncertain date, which can be placed around the ninth or tenth century of our era. The author is considered by tradition Guru Dattatreya, the beloved original Guru (Adi-Guru) of all yogis belonging to almost all the Monastic Orders of India. The text represents one of the preminent treatises of the sublime Vedic philosophy, called “Advaita Vedanta” or non-dualistic Vedanta (excellent conclusion of the Vedas). It is therefore the mostvaluable book that contains the truths and secrets of Vedanta and the direct experiences of self-realization.Swami Vivekananda, the great saint, a disciple of Śri Ramakrishna, often quoted from the Avadhuta Gita. He claimed that this chant and its author help keep spiritual realization alive, affirming the bliss of Soul (Ātman) realization. The present edition contains the original Sanskrit text, its transliteration in Roman characters, the translation of the individual words, that of the entire verse and some explanatory notes, in order to maximize fidelity to the original text and its understanding.

Speaking to those who are skeptical of Christianity, cold-case detective J. Warner Wallace offers a simple and concise approach to proving the resurrection of Jesus in this convenient evangelism booklet.
Nothing is more foundational to the Christian faith than Jesus’s resurrection. But subjective, emotional arguments won’t convince skeptics that the resurrection happened. What if instead we approached their questions with the unbiased, fact-based manner of a cold-case detective evaluating the scene of a crime?
Taken from the bestselling book Cold-Case Christianity, Case Closed by homicide detective and former atheist J. Warner Wallace asks and answers critical questions, such as:Could the disciples have been wrong about Jesus’s death? What if the disciples made up the story of the empty tomb?Could Jesus’s followers have been delusional or fooled?
Point by point, the author explains how the evidence for the resurrection is sufficient. The conclusion is reasonable. And the news is life changing. Case Closed is a powerful evangelism tool for a generation hungry for hope.

We can't just be done with religion, argues David Dark. The fact of religion is the fact of us. Religion is the witness of everything we're up to—for better or worse.

David Dark is one of today's most respected thinkers, public intellectuals, and cultural critics at the intersection of faith and culture. Since its original release, Dark's Life's Too Short to Pretend You're Not Religious has become essential reading for those engaged in the conversation on religion in contemporary American society. Now, Dark returns to his classic text and offers us a revised, expanded, and reframed edition that reflects a more expansive understanding, employs inclusive language, and tackles the most pressing issues of the day.

With the same keen powers of cultural observation, candor, and wit audiences have come to know and love, Dark weaves in current themes around the pandemic and vaccine responses, Black Lives Matter, the #MeToo and #ChurchToo movements, critical race theory, and more. By looking intentionally at our weird religious background (we all have one), he helps us acknowledge the content of our everyday existence—the good, the bad, and the glaringly inconsistent. When we make peace with the idea of being religious, we can more practically envision an undivided life.
