Buckle Up, Pilgrim: Take a ride into the Heart of Faith with John Bunyan If you're looking for a comfortable, easy read, this ain't it. John Bunyan's words are a fire that'll burn away the fluff and leave you standing face-to-face with the raw truth of your own soul. Think about it: Have you ever believed in something so fiercely that you'd risk everything for it? Your freedom? Your life? That's what Bunyan did. He, and countless others like him, were labeled rebels, outcasts, even heretics. They were jailed, persecuted, some even killed. All because they dared to stand up for their faith. And guess what? The ripple effects of their fight for freedom reached far beyond their own shores. The Pilgrims who landed on Plymouth Rock? They were part of the same movement that Bunyan championed: the Puritans. Their courage not only laid the groundwork for religious liberty in America but also inspired countless others around the world to stand up for their own right to worship freely. This book isn't just some dusty old relic. It's a collection of Bunyan's writings, penned in a cold, damp prison cell. As I read his words, I felt like I was right there with him, sharing his struggles, his hopes, his unwavering faith. Let me be frank, I expected this book to be dry, maybe even a little boring. But Bunyan's words hit me like a lightning bolt. They're raw, they're real, and they speak to the deepest parts of the human heart. How could a man locked away for his beliefs write with such passion, such love? What drove him? What made him tick? That's what we're going to discover together. We're diving deep into Bunyan's world, exploring the timeless themes of sin, salvation, and the relentless love of God. We'll confront the darkness within ourselves, but we won't stay there. Bunyan will lead us to the foot of the cross, where grace and forgiveness flow freely. Get ready for a wild ride. Bunyan's words will challenge you, inspire you, and maybe even shake you to your core. But if you're willing to take this journey, you'll come out the other side transformed. So, are you ready? Let's walk this pilgrim's path together. From Dungeons to Glory: A New Look at the Classics This book is part of a series titled From Dungeons to Glory, which features the writings of Christian authors who were imprisoned for their faith. The first two books in the series are Pilgrim on God and Salvation and Pilgrim on the Path to Eternity, both of which are based on Bunyan's original work, The Riches of Bunyan as Selected from His Works. I hope you'll join me on this journey through Bunyan's timeless words. May they bring you closer to God and help you to live a life of faith, hope, and love.

I thought I was having a breakdown; turns out, it was a breakthrough. Bombarded by uninvited memories of childhood trauma, I questioned why God would allow so many horrible things to happen to me. When God interrupted my pleas for help with a simple question—“Will you trust Me with your story?”—I agreed to step out of my stage-perfect Christian life and into the journey toward healing and finally seeing Him as a good, loving God.

David Herbert Lawrence was born on the 11th September 1885 in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, a coal mining town where the reality of a harsh life was only useful as experiences for future literary works.

He was educated at Beauvale Board School and became the first local boy to receive a scholarship to attend Nottingham High School. After 3 years he became a junior clerk in Haywood’s surgical appliances factory. He was also attempting a literary career which, in the short term, led to a teacher training position in Eastwood and later a teaching qualification from University College, Nottingham.

Lawrence’s first efforts were poems, short stories and a draft of ‘The White Peacock’. Moving to London and a teaching position in Croydon his writing attracted the attention of Ford Madox Ford, editor of The English Review, and he commissioned him to write ‘Odour of Chrysanthemums’.

Wanting to write full-time he now began work on what would become ‘Sons and Lovers.

In 1912 he met the older and married mother-of-three Frieda Weekley. They eloped to Germany and here Lawrence could see for himself the growing tensions with France. So keen was his interest that he was arrested and accused of being a British spy.

In early 1914 Frieda obtained her divorce and they returned to Britain to be married just days before the outbreak of war. Owing to her German parentage, and his own public dislike of militarism and violence, the couple were treated with contempt and suspicion throughout the war years.

Despite this he continued to write but his reputation in England was so tarnished and, mirrored by his own disdain for the country, he and Frieda left England in November 1919, first for Europe and then America via Ceylon and Australia.

They bought a ranch in Taos, New Mexico and visited Mexico several times. The third visit in March 1925 caused a near fatal attack of malaria. To convalesce they moved to Florence. Here he continued work on ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ which for many years would cause controversy. A renewed interest in oil painting resulted in an exhibition in 1929 which was raided by the police and several works were confiscated.

D H Lawrence died of complications arising from a bout of tuberculosis on the 2nd of March 1930 in Vence, France. He was 44.

In ‘The Horse Dealers daughter’ a young woman begins a relationship with a young doctor and a friend of her brothers. What should be straight forward is intimately investigated by Lawrence’s foraging pen.

“It is not out of compliment that lovers keep on telling one another how beautiful they are; the delight is incomplete till it is expressed…”
    C.S Lewis
The Book of Psalms is at the heart of the Christian Bible. The Psalmist cries out to God at times of despair, in supplication, in frustration and penitence but ultimately, in Praise.
Half of the Psalms were likely written by the Shepherd-King, David, a man described in the Bible as “a man after God’s own heart”. Indeed, the Psalms express a true heart cry to the Creator, with no pseudo religiosity, but with a refreshing honesty that has kept the Psalms at the core of worship for thousands of years.
Here they are read, in the King James Authorised translation, by Simon Hester, with original music, sparingly used, to enhance the readings.

An entertaining and inspirational memoir by the world’s most popular DIY expert and car aficionado, revealing how Rich Benoit went from buying a left-for-dead Tesla to becoming a successful entrepreneur.   People are fascinated by Tesla: the cars, the stock price, and especially its headline-grabbing CEO.  Rich Benoit was the first YouTuber to pull back the curtain on the cult-like business model that is the Tesla company, and he’s personally battled its consumer-unfriendly business practices. In Going Fast and Fixing Things, Rich provides readers with behind-the-scenes access not only to his Rich Rebuilds YouTube channel but to his off-camera life as well.  Throughout his life, Rich has almost always been the proverbial “only Black guy in the room,” but despite the fact that online car culture—especially electric vehicle fandom—skews overwhelmingly white, he has become the most popular car rebuilding guy on the internet. His voice on the page is funny and intimate and a little goofy—just like his video persona—but always tempered by a passion for the right to repair and a clear determination to create success for himself as well as for his fans. Going Fast and Fixing Things also includes tips to help readers fix, drive, and buy their own cars, along with advice on how to defy the disposable-is-better consumerist ethos that saturates our current culture.
