Sinopse

“The Devil's Disciple” is a play by George Bernard Shaw, an Irish playwright who became the leading dramatist of his generation, and in 1925 was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

“The Devil's Disciple” is Shaw's eighth play, and it was his first financial success, which helped to affirm his career as a playwright. Set in Colonial America during the Revolutionary era, the play tells the story of Richard Dudgeon, a local outcast and self-proclaimed "Devil's disciple". In a twist characteristic of Shaw's love of paradox, Dudgeon sacrifices himself in a Christ-like gesture despite his professed Infernal allegiance.

Whilst those of us old enough to remember the sixties might have thought weddings would become obsolete for all but the faithful, they still seem for the majority of us to be the benchmark, the gold standard of a relationship.

This symbol of love, commitment and sacrifice between two people, albeit for most, no longer mirroring the union between God and His Church, endures. Others have found other words with which to celebrate, share and state their love, their spiritual and emotional commitment in front of family, friends and the wider world.

This wide-ranging and inclusive volume contains some of the most beautiful verses ever created in the English language from some of its greatest classic poetical voices including Shakespeare, John Donne, John Keats, Edna St Vincent Millay and Sara Teasdale.

Whether conventional, convenient or gimmicky, love is the theme and the feeling and used to offer the vows without focusing on the religious but still providing the personal and universal of that very mysterious emotion, love.

"Kevin Goes to Japan 2 Stories for Japanese Learners JLPT N5 to N3" is the sequel of my first book as well as Japanese learning materials, "Kevin Goes to Japan 1". This one also comes with 495 sample reading comprehension questions of JLPT from N5 to N3. These questions are from the story, including what each character thinks/feels. You can understand deeply about the story via reading comprehension. For N3 level questions, the last reading comprehensions are more like articles explaining Japanese culture and languages.
Besides, I used more complex words and expressions than in Kevin 1 as a Japanese light novel. You can enjoy love romance stories weaved by Kevin, Yumiko, Yukio, and Tomoko on Valentine's and White Day that is the original even related to Valentine's Day. Regardless of age, Japanese Valentine's Day is one of the most significant events of the year. Yukio and Kevin are pretty thrilled about whether they can get chocolate from Yumiko and Tomoko or not, but......? I hope you enjoy reading Kevin 2 as a bilingual love romance novel as well!

Building Bridges is set in 1965 in Anderston, Glasgow and examines the reaction of deserted husband, Billy Speirs, and his family to the return of his estranged wife, Bernie, whose mother has been taken seriously ill.
It is a tale of bitterness, betrayal, and the absolute enduring strength of love when a community was sliced up to make way for a stretch of inner city motorway and the Glasgow Kingston Bridge. Just as the earmarking of Anderston as a Glasgow Comprehensive Development Area faced mixed reactions, the couple’s tentative and nervous steps back to one another faced opposition and difficulty and like the opinion of much of the community at that time, it was clear that things were never going to be the same again.
The heart was getting ripped out of the place, just as it had been ripped out of Billy. Decisions have to be made, loyalties examined, and painful truths faced. Better days were coming, however, in the promise of new corporation housing, and it is against this backdrop of demolition and renewal that Building Bridges opens.
