Sinopse

The mayor of a seaside town is murdered, and a London police detective must sort through motives both political and personal . . .   Thanks to its mayor, Sir Gideon Ware, the quiet harbor town of Westcombe has turned into a crowded and rather garish seaside destination where visitors can come to escape the stress of wartime. When Ware collapses at a lavish luncheon, felled by strychnine, Inspector Littlejohn must travel from London to solve the seemingly inexplicable murder. Ware was surrounded by local bigwigs at his table—but that’s just the beginning of the suspect list, as Littlejohn untangles the rivalries, resentments, and corrupt dealings that permeate this picturesque but troubled community . . .  Praise for the Inspector Littlejohn mysteries   “Assured prose, well-drawn characters, and the atmosphere of 1940s wartime England . . . well worth the reader’s time.” —Publishers Weekly   “Everything is quite comparable in tone to a really good Simenon.” —The New York Times   “Dryly ceremonious wit [that] shines from the very first page.” —Kirkus Reviews

It's a nice day for a white wedding . . . if I can make it down the aisle unscathed and still breathing, that is!

'Tis I, newly restored witch and armchair sleuth Stevie Cartwright, and I'm finally about to marry Win, my soul mate/ex-spy turned groom-zilla. We've gone to hell and back (and a few planes of existence) for our happily ever after, and nothing's going to get in the way of our union . . . except possibly a murder while auditioning musical options for the reception.

The blessed event is just days away, but Win and I can't resist a good mystery, so in between last-minute wedding decisions, the early arrival of my high-maintenance parents, my klutzy mishaps, and an ill-timed visit from the ghost of my long-forgotten ex-fiancé, we're tracking a killer in Ebenezer Falls' latest whodunit.

Time to multitask like a champ and get me to the church . . . er, backyard . . . on time.

    Piece of cake, right?

SHORTLISTED FOR THE 2016 KOBO EMERGING WRITER PRIZE
Most of the things Pillow really liked to do were obviously morally wrong. He wasn't an idiot; clearly it was wrong to punch people in the face for money. But there had been an art to it, and it had been thrilling and thoughtful for him. The zoo was also evil, a jail for animals who'd committed no crimes, but he just loved it. The way Pillow figured it, love wasn't about goodness, it wasn't about being right, loving the very best person, having the most ethical fun. Love was about being alone and making some decisions.
Pillow loves animals. Especially the exotic ones. Which is why he chooses the zoo for the drug runs he does as a low-level enforcer for a crime syndicate run by André Breton. He doesn't love his life of crime, but he isn't cut out for much else, what with all the punches to the head he took as a professional boxer. And now that he's accidentally but sort of happily knocked up his neighbor, he wants to get out and go straight. But first there's the matter of some stolen coins, possibly in the possession of George Bataille, which leads Pillow on a bizarre caper that involves kidnapping a morphine-addled Antonin Artaud, some corrupt cops, a heavy dose of Surrealism, and a quest to see some giraffes.

"Abigail Keam writes with vision and understanding. Keam leaves the reader yearning for more." -Midwest Book Review
Josiah Reynolds is a beekeeper trying to stay financially afloat by selling honey at the Farmers' Market. She finds her world turned upside down when a man is found dead in her beeyard, only to discover the victim is her nemesis. The police are calling the brutal death murder and Josiah is the number one suspect! Fighting an unknown enemy in the glamorous world of Thoroughbreds, oak-cured bourbon, and antebellum mansions, Josiah struggles to uncover the truth in a land that keeps its secrets well. Josiah faces the world with sarcastic humor and a number of quirky, oddball friends that can only be found in the Bluegrass town of Lexington, the heart of Kentucky horse country. Some mysteries end with a bang, some are not solved at all and the first one ends with a cliff hanger, but they always entertain in the sassy, humorous, and suspenseful world as Josiah goes about sleuthing. Like Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, Josiah observes the world about her and solves even the must troubling cases.
Death By A HoneyBee is the first of an episodic series and as such ends in a cliff-hanger which is crucial to the rest of the series. Attached to HoneyBee is a bonus chapter from Death By Drowning which continues our heroine's story in linear time. I hope you enjoy reading Death By A HoneyBee as much as I have enjoyed writing it. It was a labor of love.
"The Josiah Reynolds Mystery Series is just like fried chicken - finger-licking good! Add some sweet tea and a piece of chocolate pecan pie with a scoop of ice-cream and you got yourself some tasty reading. We are introduced to a cast of characters and a storyline that, like honey, is sweet and delicious." -Linda Hinchcliff, Chevy Chase Magazine
