Sinopsis

In "The Lost Prince," Frances Hodgson Burnett weaves a richly imagined narrative that combines elements of adventure and fantasy with poignant explorations of identity and belonging. Set against the backdrop of the fictional European kingdom of Samandra, the story follows young Marco, who embarks on a quest to protect the rightful heir to the throne, intertwining themes of loyalty and courage. Burnett'Äôs stylistic prose is imbued with vivid descriptions, allowing readers to immerse themselves in this fantastical world that mirrors the political tumult of her time, as she cleverly critiques societal norms and the concept of nobility. Frances Hodgson Burnett, an accomplished author known for her works such as "The Secret Garden" and "A Little Princess," drew upon her experiences as an immigrant and her keen observations of Victorian society while penning this tale. Her personal background'Äîexperiencing both the challenges of poverty and the uplifting power of imagination'Äîshapes her narratives, imbuing them with a sense of hope and resilience. "The Lost Prince" reflects her belief in the transformative power of bravery and friendship. I wholeheartedly recommend "The Lost Prince" to readers seeking a blend of fantasy and profound moral lessons. Burnett's timeless storytelling and heartfelt characters continue to resonate with audiences, making this book a cherished addition to any literary collection.

THE GIRL BROWNIES – ASHDOWN FOREST, ENGLAND 1919
Book 4 of 6 The Great Forest Rescue
The summary of this fourth book in the series is as follows:
While exploring Ashdown Forest in the summer of 1919, the six Brownies—Lulu, Minnie, Lottie, Agatha, Bernadette, and Beryl—discover an injured fox caught in a poacher's trap. Working together, they carefully free the animal (named Rusty) and nurse it back to health with guidance from Mr. Hawthorne, a war veteran turned naturalist. Through mishaps and teamwork—Agatha's first aid skills, Minnie's animal knowledge, Bernadette's gentle care—they rehabilitate Rusty and release him into the wild.
Their compassion leads to a new mission: joining Mr. Hawthorne's forest preservation project. Each girl contributes her unique talents—Lulu's leadership, Beryl's keen observation, Lottie's humor—to protect the forest's wildlife. As autumn arrives, occasional sightings of a russet fox remind them of their first rescue and the greater adventure ahead: safeguarding Ashdown Forest's magic for all its creatures.
The initial opening credit music, “Joyful Journey”, which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, recorder, tambourine, guitar and accordion in a folk/classical and cheerful mood. The closing music, “Bloom”, ends the tale on with more of the same at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments etc. but more of an ending feel.
The story and music itself runs to just about 14 minutes and is narrated in my wife's voice, Claire, who actually was a ranger guide!
I do hope you enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come

Holy Father Benedict, the father of monks in the West, is one of the greatest saints of the Church's illustrious halls of fame. His movement to become a hermit and found monasteries, writing the famous Rule of St. Benedict, was the decisive moment of monasticism's growth in the West, under the maxim of ora et labora, "prayer and work." His blessing caused a poisoned cup to shatter and a raven to swipe away poisoned bread; he miraculously saved someone from drowning, and he raised another from the dead. This is the story of the holiest monk of the West, the hero among religious founders.
The author of Saint Benedict: The Story of the Father of the Western Monks, Mary Fabyan Windeatt, was known as “the storyteller of the saints.” In the 1950s and 60s, she wrote over 20 historical fiction novels on the saints, bringing to life these holy men and women for young readers across the world. Sold individually or in a set of 20, these timeless classics have educated young men and women in virtue since their publication in the 1950s. All the stories tell the lives of saints in an engaging way, detailing their virtues, struggles, and countless adventures.
