Sinopsis

What is Reverse Perspective

Reverse perspective, also called inverse perspective, inverted perspective, divergent perspective, or Byzantine perspective, is a form of perspective drawing in which the objects depicted in a scene are placed between the projective point and the viewing plane. Objects farther away from the viewing plane are drawn as larger, and closer objects are drawn as smaller, in contrast to the more conventional linear perspective for which closer objects appear larger. Lines that are parallel in three-dimensional space are drawn as diverging against the horizon, rather than converging as they do in linear perspective. Technically, the vanishing points are placed outside the painting with the illusion that they are "in front of" the painting.

Create a Gospel-Centered Rule of Life
Habits form us more than we form them. The modern world is a machine of invisible habits, forming us into anxious, busy people. We yearn for the freedom of the gospel but remain shackled by our screens and exhausted by our routines. How can we truly break free, find rest, and form a life that aligns our habits with our foundational beliefs?
According to Justin Earley, the answer is a rule of life. The Common Rule's four daily and four weekly habits transform frazzled days into lives of love for God and neighbor.
In The Common Rule, you'll find

    - doable, life-giving practices to find freedom and rest for your soul,
    - expanded content including study guide questions for individual reflection and group discussion, and
    - practical, accessible resources for building habits that bring life.
Take the first step toward a life of intentionality and discover how simple, meaningful habits can transform your everyday moments into a rhythm of peace and purpose.
"Full of glimpses of the life we were made for, and the simple choices that can take us in that direction. The habits described here, and the wisdom they embody, are the path toward sanity in a frenetic world." – Andy Crouch, author of The Tech-Wise Family and Culture Making

    Sustainability - A Very Short...

The growing concern about global environmental change and human impacts on the planet has led to the emergence of a broad field of study on the 'sustainability' of human societies. The term's common usage can be traced back to the advent of the Earth Summit in 1992 when 'sustainable development' was broadly embraced by the international community as an ostensibly win-win proposition for economic development, social inclusion, and ecological conservation. Yet both the natural science underpinnings and the social implications of a quest for sustainability have been diffuse. There is a need for a coherent synthesis which draws out key themes from both natural and social analysis of the concept. This Very Short Introduction begins by introducing the concept of sustainability and how it has developed. The central chapters consider four key concepts crucial to sustainability: a) material and energy flows in consumption and production; b) technological interventions for a sustainable society; c) tipping points, and resilience in natural and social systems; and d) renewability and circularity in the economy. In the concluding chapter, Saleem H. Ali explores political means of managing anthropogenic change for a more sustainable society.
