What is Raster Graphics

In computer graphics and digital photography, a raster graphic represents a two-dimensional picture as a rectangular matrix or grid of pixels, viewable via a computer display, paper, or other display medium. A raster is technically characterized by the width and height of the image in pixels and by the number of bits per pixel. Donna, an experienced nurse, is a master storyteller. Nurses help so many people during tragedy and heartache. Walking down hospital halls can be a frightening heart-breaking experience. Yet, some degree of hope and comfort can be found through sharing life-changing true experiences from friends, patients, and family. A Christian perspective is given as scripture is creatively threaded throughout the chapters. Consider the gems of our private collection of personal stories that can only be enjoyed if shared. Grandma will simplify the understanding of salvation with apple pie, in "Salvation by the Slice." Meet Louie in the ICU, an underground miner who survived an accident and encountered God in the most amazing way. Enjoy the way God orchestrates life when He is "My Paul Harvey God." Perhaps in your life the word coincidence will be transformed into God-incidence. Ponder the power available to all who pray as you examine "Quality Connections."Scripture often states God's "Expectations and Promises" are connected. The topics of honor, giving, forgiving, and love saturated with obedience are helpful reminders of what we do well and what we may consider improving. The rich messages of "The Whatever Principle" will be familiar to so many. The chapters, "God's Gear" and "Enemy Tactics" shine a new perspective on those who choose to threaten or tarnish a persons reputation. And the chapter, "Are you Looking for a Sign" shares one of my favorite memories of a family of strong faith in the face of a loved one's death. Come seeking and you're sure to find;A blessing for your heart and mind,Some comfort for your pain.Listen to these words and I will tellstories that can make you well.God's grace will fall like rain.Lay down your heartaches and your fears.Accept His love. Let Him draw near.Your life will never be the same!Donna

This is a book about ocean racing – a personal view of the events and an account of one of the most successful individual records ever made by a designer and skipper. In 1965 Dick Carter was a good skipper, but an unknown designer. His first design was Rabbit, which Sandy Weld helped launch, tune and race. They won the Fastnet Race in its first season and Dick Carter grew an international reputation. The Leading Edge depicts the intense competition of crews dedicated to winning and the camaraderie and enthusiasm of those who participate in this demanding sport. It is an appreciation of Dick Carter's designs and his skill as a skipper. It is also the story of the extraordinary success of his first design, Rabbit, and the next three designs he skippered: Tina, Rabbit II and Red Rooster – the latter which also won the Fastnet Race and the Admiral's Cup. Weld's racing experience provides a fascinating account that will be of considerable use to the sailor and of absorbing interest to those who follow the sport.

Cholera was the classic epidemic disease of the nineteenth century, as the plague had been for the fourteenth. Its defeat was a reflection not only of progress in medical knowledge but of enduring changes in American social thought. Rosenberg has focused his study on New York City, the most highly developed center of this new society. Carefully documented, full of descriptive detail, yet written with an urgent sense of the drama of the epidemic years, this narrative is as absorbing for general audiences as it is for the medical historian. In a new Afterword, Rosenberg discusses changes in historical method and concerns since the original publication of The Cholera Years.

“A major work of interpretation of medical and social thought . . . this volume is also to be commended for its skillful, absorbing presentation of the background and the effects of this dread disease.”—I.B. Cohen, New York Times

”The Cholera Years is a masterful analysis of the moral and social interest attached to epidemic disease, providing generally applicable insights into how the connections between social change, changes in knowledge and changes in technical practice may be conceived.”—Steven Shapin, Times Literary Supplement

”In a way that is all too rarely done, Rosenberg has skillfully interwoven medical, social, and intellectual history to show how medicine and society interacted and changed during the 19th century. The history of medicine here takes its rightful place in the tapestry of human history.”—John B. Blake, Science
