Sinopse

What is Bullet

A bullet is a kinetic projectile, a component of firearm ammunition that is shot from a gun barrel. They are made of a variety of materials, such as copper, lead, steel, polymer, rubber and even wax; and are made in various shapes and constructions, including specialized functions such as hunting, target shooting, training, and combat. Bullets are often tapered, making them more aerodynamic. Bullet size is expressed by weight and diameter in both imperial and metric measurement systems. Bullets do not normally contain explosives but strike or damage the intended target by transferring kinetic energy upon impact and penetration.

Many of us give up on prayer when we don't get the answer we want WHEN we want it.

For nearly two decades, Saint Monica prayed for her wayward son. Years and years of prayers, seemingly unanswered. Countless tears shed with no relief. Yet she would not give up.

That very act of persistent prayer blessed the entire Church, for we have all benefitted from the conversion of her son, Augustine, who became one of the most revered saints of all time.

Parents of any age or at any stage can cultivate the same virtues in prayer that Saint Monica discovered during her long wait for God's answer for her child. This devotion includes eighteen contemporary reflections, meditations taken from the writings of Saint Augustine, and prayers adapted from the liturgy and other ancient sources.

Don't give up. Persistence in prayer can change everything—for you, your children, and maybe even the world.

Daniel Stern's connection with audiences is cemented in movies like Home Alone and City Slickers, and in his debut memoir, Home and Alone, he is the Everyman narrator on a ride into the human side of Hollywood. Experience what it's like driving Robert Redford in his Porsche at 100 mph, or stripping down for a nude scene in front of a group of strangers. Share the out-of-body moments of flying alone with Mel Gibson on his jet to Las Vegas and smashing a fake mustache onto Gary Busey's face while cursing him out on the pitcher's mound of Wrigley Field. Join him in his triumphant stories like conquering his dyslexia as the voice of The Wonder Years, and his terrifying ones like being sued for $25 million by CBS and Columbia pictures. His insights into marriage, children, parents, and parenting are not only hilarious, but packed with subtle wisdom. But the real surprises are in Stern's off-screen roles as a bronze sculptor, cattle rancher, avocado farmer, and public servant. The hard work and commitment he has put into his on-screen successes are applied with the same intensity to every aspect of his life. From creating monumental public art projects and founding a Boys & Girls Club to visiting troops in Iraq and learning to birth a cow, he has lived it all. Home and Alone is for anyone who needs reminding that nothing is impossible if you put your mind to it.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Les Knight, a young man from Camberwell, Victoria was like many who joined to serve his country during the Second World War. But unlike many others his skill as a Lancaster pilot enabled him to successfully breach the Eder Dam in the now infamous Dambusters Raid. At the age of 22, Les was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and became a national hero.
But his war service continued, and four months after the Dambusters Raid, his aircraft was badly damaged. On this occasion, Les’s skill and bravery were again on display as he held the stricken plane steady to allow his seven crewmates to bail out.
Then, as he searched for a place to ditch the aircraft, he steered clear of a Dutch village to avoid any civilian injuries. The plane hit the ground hard, cartwheeled, and Les was killed.
Five of the seven crew members were able to evade being captured by the Germans and, with the help of underground movements, were returned to England. The other two were captured and detained in POW camps until the war’s end. All seven returned home to continue their lives, marry and have children. Their lives are Les’ legacy.
This is the remarkable story of one brave Australian who answered his country’s calling and who demonstrated courage far beyond expectation. His gravestone carries the inscription ‘Let us be Worthy’. The village of Den Ham has never forgotten the bravery of this young Australian pilot. His grave has always been immaculately kept.
