~~~~~  PG Excerpt  ~~~~~
“Now,” Paige said as she laid down on her side, propping her head up in her hand. “Tell me about your fantasy about your father.”
Natalie followed suit and laid on her side with her head propped up, facing Paige as she tried to formulate her words. “Okay...The last time my father ever spanked me, I was like maybe nine or ten. I don't even remember now what I did to deserve it. But I was wearing a skirt at the time, and he put me over his lap, raised the skirt up and spanked me about three or four times over my panties. I mean, daddy had spanked me a few times before then, but I always had on pants or jeans or whatever. That was the first time he had ever spanked me with just panties on, and I remember it hurt like hell. I didn't think a whole lot of it for the longest time afterward, except for remembering how much it hurt, and ever since I tried to never make him mad enough to want to spank me ever again.”
Paige let out a slight chuckle, remembering how she also tried avoiding spankings, only any spankings she got were from her mother, her father never did spank her as far as she could remember. Paige also began to notice that Natalie's nipples were starting to harden and stick out through her t-shirt as she told her story. She started feeling an ever growing urge to reach out and touch them. She was also starting to notice a wetness starting to form inside her own panties.
“Anyway,” Natalie continued, “lately I started having these...dreams.”
    For almost 150 years until the late twentieth century, French Onion Johnnies (or 'Ingan Johnnies', as they were usually known in Scotland) were a familiar group of seasonal workers in towns and cities throughout Britain.
    In this book, nine Onion Johnnies (including one 'Jenny') who worked in Scotland at one time or another between the 1920s and the 1970s recount their lives. The recollections, recorded in interviews in Brittany and at Leith in 1999 by the Scottish Working People's History Trust, provide a fascinating insight into the lives and experience of those whose livelihood and way of life have vanished forever. It paints a poignant picture of the past and a way of life about nothing in any detail has ever been published before.
    A manifesto on the state of the non-profit arts sector and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity leaders have to redefine the business as an investment in our shared social purpose.
    “The Audacity of Relevance isn’t just for arts leaders but for artists, philanthropists, and arts-loving audiences. It provides a modern look at our organizations and invites us to break the echo chambers we operate in. By forcing us to see the world differently, Alex Sarian asks us to rethink our purpose by leaning into our shared humanity.” — Sarah Arison, Trustee, MoMA
    The arts and culture sector is in crisis—a crisis of relevance. Whether it’s grappling with dwindling audience sizes, shifting trends in philanthropy, or addressing social challenges, experts have been documenting this slow decline for decades.
    At the core of Alex Sarian’s international career is the conviction that cultural organizations must embrace a greater civic purpose and build a new business model—one based on the social impact of the arts.
    Throughout The Audacity of Relevance, Sarian engages in conversations with leaders from across industries to paint a potential future for arts organizations—a future built on measuring our sector’s success by how positively we can influence the many local communities that surround us.
