From the unapologetic bad boy of professional golf comes a rip-roaring account of his rollercoaster life and career
From his battles with alcoholism and gambling addiction to marital problems (his fourth and current wife is facing money-laundering charges) and a highly publicized breakdown during a nationally televised tournament, John Daly has hit into his share of hazards.
Daly’s play-it-as-it-lies approach drives a thrillingly candid memoir of a larger-than-life athlete battling the links, addiction, depression, weight problems, and, perhaps worst of all, divorce lawyers. Taking readers off the fairway and into his million-dollar motorhome for a rollicking ride through his life—a never-ending circuit of booze, golf, country music, and Hooter Girls—Daly reveals how a down home Everyman from Arkansas managed to conquer the greens, dodge the hazards, and finally take control of his life (sort of).

When Rael Levitt stepped onto the podium at Quoin Rock Wine Estate in December 2011, he was CEO of the industry-pioneering Auction Alliance and at the pinnacle of a glittering 20-year career. But then disaster struck. After being accused by a powerful billionaire of using a ghost bidder to inflate the bid price, Levitt’s reputation was obliterated. In an echo of the Boxing Day tsunami that he survived in 2004, the self-made entrepreneur was overwhelmed by a media-driven scandal that came at him like a train of killer waves. Once the face of South African auctions, he seemingly sank without a trace. But he was not beaten. A decade later Levitt has a thrilling rise-and-fall-and-rise-again story to tell. The lessons he learnt from suffering catastrophe and finding the tenacity to survive have laid the foundations for success. At once candid and controversial, Levitt’s story is ultimately an uplifting one, revealing that the greater the tsunami, the greater the lesson.

Henry Louis Wallace terrorized Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 1992 to March 1994. Wallace preyed on lower economic-class Black women between 17 and 35 years old. He knew most of his victims, some through his job at Taco Bell, and gained their trust with his friendly demeanor and gentle nature—concealing a monster fueled by drug abuse and rage against women. A rarity in that he was an African American serial killer, his murderous rampage spurred controversy throughout the city. Community members accused local police of ignoring the murders because of the victims' race. Wallace attended the funerals of many of his victims and offered condolences to families. The ensuing investigation became the largest in North Carolina’s history. Wallace was eventually found guilty and convicted of nine counts of murder, but he admitted to more killings while incarcerated; he is potentially responsible for anywhere from 20 to 90 deaths of Black women. Wallace continues to appeal and awaits his execution at Central Prison in Raleigh. BAD HENRY: The Murderous Rampage of ‘The Taco Bell Strangler’ by Ron Chepesiuk offers valuable insight into the psychology of serial killers and sheds light on issues surrounding race and policing.

The first gem in the Buried Treasures series—stories unearthed from the heart, where memory and meaning intertwine.
What do you do when your memories are lost, hidden somewhere deep in the dusty corners of your mind—especially the ones that matter most?
Mum & Me at the Hippy Campus is a poetic and heartfelt journey into the foggy halls of memory, where one woman sets out to reclaim the flickering fragments of her mother, lost too soon. Blending memoir with lyrical reflection, this audiobook is both a tribute and a treasure hunt.
With a wink and a nod, the author refers to her brain as the “hippy campus”—a playful twist on the word hippocampus, the part of the brain responsible for memory. Here, in this imaginary tie-dyed university of recollection, she searches for long-forgotten laughter, the scent of shared moments, and the comforting cadence of her mother’s voice.
What unfolds is a moving meditation on love, loss, grief, and healing—told with wit, warmth, and deep emotional resonance. It’s a book for anyone who’s ever wanted to hold onto someone who slipped away too soon… and for those learning to remember again, one gentle step at a time.
