ABOUT THE FILM 
Taxi Driver (1976), directed by Martin Scorsese, follows Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro), a mentally troubled Vietnam War veteran who becomes a night-shift taxi driver in a decaying, crime-ridden New York City. Struggling with chronic insomnia and loneliness, Travis’s disillusionment with society grows as he witnesses the city's corruption and moral decay. Obsessed with saving a young prostitute, Iris (Jodie Foster), and seeking a sense of purpose, Travis begins to spiral into violent thoughts.
