Sinopse

Dear readers and poetry lovers, It is with great emotion and enthusiasm that I share with you my latest work, a deep dive into the universe of words and feelings. This book of poetry is an intimate journey through the nuances of life, where each verse is an echo of the heart, each stanza is a sigh of the soul. Symphony of 100 Poems Synopsis: In these pages, I sought to capture the ephemerality of love, the melancholy of longing, the bravery of hope and the mysteries that weave the web of existence. Each poem is a painting of emotions, an invitation to reflect on the wonders and challenges that permeate our journey. What to Expect: Feel free to explore the pages of this book like diving into an ocean of words. Each poem is a bridge between the tangible and the ephemeral, an attempt to express the indescribable beauty of human emotions. Dear readers, It is with immense gratitude and joy that I dedicate these words to you, who kindly embarked on this poetic journey with me. Creating this book was an experience of profound meaning, and it could not have been possible without the support and inspiration of so many incredible people. First of all, I would like to thank my family for their patience, unconditional love and constant encouragement. To the friendships that brightened my days with laughter, understanding and support, my sincere thanks. To those who shared their stories, feelings and experiences, you are the true essence of these poems. To the dedicated team who made this book a reality, from editors to designers, I thank you for transforming loose words into a tangible work. To the mentors who guided my literary path, my deepest gratitude. And, finally, to you, dear readers, for allowing these poems to touch your hearts. May this book be more than words on paper, but a meaningful echo in your lives. With all my love and gratitude, Fernando Kfer

.Mrs. Warren's Profession is a play written by George Bernard Shaw in 1893, and first performed in London in 1902 but was banned after two performances because of the profession talked about. The play is about a former prostitute, now a madam (brothel proprietor), who attempts to come to terms with her disapproving daughter. It illustrates Shaw's belief that the act of prostitution was not caused by moral failure but by economic necessity. It also has a lot to say about the hypocrisy of English society that profited from many despised and illegal professions and used people in despicable ways but pretended to look down on them. This was probably why it was banned, not because of the 'profession' of Mrs. Warren, but because it exposed very highly placed people doing nasty things to make money

Taking a profound look at the African American experience and the far-reaching impacts of colonization and Western Civilization, this intimate relationship portrayed through poetry offers a truthful reflection that resonates not only in the United States but also throughout the diaspora. This raw and spiritual interpretation prompts the listener to contemplate and raises more questions than it answers.
Through a blend of poetic voice, ancestral wisdom, and spiritual discovery, How To Become The Conqueror: An African American Revelation serves as both an emotional revelation and a call to consciousness. Performed and narrated by the author, Amsara Sekhita Mai Holly, with original vocals by the sister group Holly Girlz, this audiobook delivers a stirring sonic journey that uplifts, awakens, and challenges.
Amsara Sekhita Mai Holly is a multidisciplinary artist, poet, actress, author, filmmaker and businesswoman. As a member of the music group and creative collective Holly Girlz, she works in deep collaboration with her sisters to produce art in many artistic and creative mediums. As a performer and storyteller, Amsara bridges activism, spirituality, and artistry in this book - channeling cultural reclamation and liberated creative expression. With roots in performance, literature, and African traditions, Amsara’s voice carries the weight of history and the fire of transformation.
This debut audiobook is more than a collection of poetry, it is a ritual, a mirror, and a movement through rhythm. With How To Become The Conqueror, Amsara steps into the role of both witness and warrior, using her voice to explore the spiritual and psychological terrain of the African American experience with an unflinching gaze - using the spoken word as medicine, revolution and reverence. For those ready to reclaim, remember, and rise, this audiobook offers a sacred beginning.

A suite of poems about a percussionist in 1970 Spanish Harlem music circles, from the author of The Crazy Bunch

A National Book Critics Circle 2014 Finalist for Poetry

Through dream song and elegy, alternate takes and tempos, prizewinning poet Willie Perdomo’s third collection crackles with vitality and dynamism as it imagines the life of a percussionist, rebuilding the landscape of his apprenticeship, love, diaspora, and death. At the beginning of his infernal journey, Shorty Bon Bon recalls his live studio recording with a classic 1970s descarga band, sharing his recollection with an unidentified poet. This opening section is followed by a call-and-response with his greatest love, a singer named Rose, and a visit to Puerto Rico that inhabits a surreal nationalistic dreamscape, before a final jam session where Shorty recognizes his end and a trio of voices seek to converge on his elegy.

“A vivid portrait of a late-20th century Nuyorican musical community … Perdomo manages to mix the language of city life with a sense of the transcendent.”—NPR.org

This anthology of eleven stirring tales, composed in melodic rhyming couplets, sweeps readers into a realm where myth intertwines with romance across diverse landscapes: from the Peruvian Amazon to the plains of Africa, the vastness of the Pacific to the spiritual heights of Tibet. Each narrative celebrates the wild, noble beasts that champion the cause of their land: wolves liberating Athens, pumas safeguarding the Amazon, bears emancipating prisoners in wartime Germany, and more.
These creatures not only symbolize the spirit of their homelands but also the myths and history embedded within, now imperilled by relentless
     modernization.

Scott’s weaves a poetic tapestry reminiscent of Coleridge’s ‘Ancient Mariner,’ Kipling’s ‘Just So Stories,’ and the adventurous spirit of Patrick Leigh Fermor, all while channelling Mary Pope Osborne’s fascination with myth. It’s a literary mosaic, unparalleled in ambition, which speaks eloquently to the urgency of preserving our world’s cultural and ecological richness. The stories, though they grapple with themes of loss and environmental decay, also ignite hope for spiritual rebirth and the triumph of nature’s indomitable heart.
