Sinopse

A truth teacher's lonely struggle against hypocrisy and abuse

”The last Teacher” is the drama of a high school teacher forced to deal with a gang of bullies, a beautiful and too uninhibited girl, their dissolute parents, a corrupt and hostile principal, and several colleagues who pretend not to see what is going on in the school out of fear, hypocrisy and self-interest. Rigid and somewhat out of touch, but deeply honest, he is enemy number one on the ”animal farm” definitively devoted to single-mindedness, and therefore pays his defense of the truth at a very high price.

Talbot Farber, a popular and successful Albuquerque businessman, lost his beloved wife thirteen years ago. There was a fire aboard the ship during their fifth-anniversary cruise. Several people went overboard in the melee; Jenna Farber was the only one whose body was never recovered. Years passed, she was declared legally dead, and Talbot went ahead with his life, raising their young daughter on his own. Now, he tells Charlie and Ron, he has spotted Jenna alive and well in the Denver airport. He begs them to find her, his excitement palpable as he believes he didn’t lose her after all. But what’s really going on? The deeper they dig, the more complicated the story becomes. Is Talbot’s sighting merely wishful thinking or is Jenna Farber actually still alive? And, if so, why didn’t she return home during all this time?

World War III - It Started with EMP  This is a fiction (?) novel of future history. The story of what could happen today or tomorrow if an enemy were to launch World War Three - WWIII. It proposes a religious link between Islamic countries with the intent to take over the Western World in concert with China taking on the Asian World. The war starts with nuclear bombs exploding in low earth orbit over the United States causing a high-altitude electro magnetic pulse (HEMP) event that destroys our transistor based electronic world including communications and transportation. Following the disabling of the United States the Islamic countries physically attack Europe.
This novel was written as future history - something that is likely to happen in the near future. The original 1987 novel was used as a basis for a war game attended by our top generals and completed only months before Iraq invaded Kuwait. I was consulted on that war game and our response to Iraq was partially modified by my input. However, the manuscripts of this book were read by only a few government officials and a few of my close relatives. This novel had some future technologies that are just now coming into use. Remotely piloted drones are still not as advanced as in the novel, but operate on the same principle I envisioned in 1987.

I hate him...but I also want to touch his abs. Is that normal?
    Grace
My boss, the famous romance novelist, always said she’d open doors for me when I finished writing my first book. Only I have...and she hasn’t. Worse, I just met her new brand manager, and I know him.
Enoch “the Suit” Laskin made my life miserable in business school, right up until he seduced me. Then he took an internship with Parker Brand Management, working for my father, the other man I hate.
Enoch is a traitor. He’s a jerk. It’s torture to be around him.
Lucky for me, the Fairy Godmother Agency, a husband and wife P.I. team who help women in dire straits, have offered to make me their next client.
The Suit won’t know what hit him.
    Enoch
I sold my soul to John Parker, and I still haven’t gotten it back.
Grace thinks I betrayed her. She’s not wrong, but she doesn’t know the full story.
Through a few twists of fate, I’ve become the caretaker of my grumpy father and teenage nephew. I’m determined to prove myself to Grace, and to them, but everything keeps going disastrously wrong.
If I were a more superstitious man, I’d think someone was out to get me.
