The Night Land is a classic horror novel by William Hope Hodgson.
The Night Land is a tale of the remote future, billions of years after the death of the sun. It is one of the most potent pieces of macabre imagination ever written. There is a sense of cosmic alienage, breathless mystery, and terrified expectancy unrivalled in the whole range of literature. This fantasy of a night-black, dead planet, with the remains of the human race concentrated in a stupendously vast metal pyramid and besieged by monstrous, hybrid and altogether unknown forces of darkness, is something that no reader can forget.

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is the original title of a novel written by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson that was first published in 1886. It is about a London lawyer named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr Henry Jekyll and the misanthropic Edward Hyde. The novella's impact is such that it has become a part of the language, with the phrase "Jekyll and Hyde" coming to mean a person who is vastly different in moral character from one situation to the next. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was an immediate success and is one of Stevenson's best-selling works. Stage adaptations began in Boston and London within a year of its publication and it has gone on to inspire scores of major film and stage performances. An Author's Republic audio production.

"The Vacant Lot" by Mary E. Wilkins Freeman From the time that the editor of Harper's Bazaar overlooked Freeman's cramped handwriting, difficult to read, and published the story "Two Old Lovers", Mary Wilkins Freeman never looked back. Her Vermont and Massachusetts background forms an important part of many of her stories. This story is both a ghost story and a mystery, and the mystery is as interesting as the ghost story. It is, quite literally, a matter of haunted ground, of old wrongs done, of old blood sunk in the earth that will not lie quiet. The listener, indeed, may also have a hard time lying quiet!"On the Brighton Road" by Richard Middleton Richard Barham Middleton was once known as a poet, having published two volumes of poetry in the early 1910s, but now is remembered for his ghost stories. His life was cut short by his own hand at the age of 29, before any of his work had been published. Friends, admirers, and family championed his work after his death, and it has continued to appear in anthologies. This story has a very subtle kind of horror to it. One figure is limping beside a lonely road; another, walking the same road, is down on his luck and with few prospects. They form a bond, and it turns out there is a very dark side to that bond - one that may reach past death itself!"Sister Johanna" by Amelia B. Edwards A woman looks on as her capricious young sister agrees to marry one man, and then runs away with his handsome younger brother. When the man she jilted returns after a long and mysterious absence, an even more mysterious meeting, in the dead of night, leaves the two women to wonder, and to mourn, for the rest of their lives. More a story of character than a story of terror, Amelia Edwards nevertheless does not fail to leave her listeners with a chill.

"We Want You to Join the Dead" a poster read on the desk of Mortimer, the Grim reaper King he thought it was disturbing it had a grim reaper looking pointing it's hand forwards looking like an old we want you to join the army sign. It was his assistant, Dante's idea to drum up moral among the reapers. Mortimer wasn't sure it was the right attitude.Solace In the Shadows -
Blake is acting odd suddenly he's into work really! Even his assistant Dante thinks his over working can his son help him.Hello darkness, my old friend
Blake sat in a dark room alone in the afterlife wondering what brought him to be there lost in thoughts of darkness and sadness as he quite often did when he had time to himself. Listening to his favorite Coldplay album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends song 42 was playing when in barged a grim reaper with a ghost. He was spooked for a moment only startled.
