Sinopsis

Leader Code provides a practical guide to mastering leadership in today's complex business world. It emphasizes three core elements: Character, Competence, and Connection, arguing that effective leadership is a skill that can be learned. The book draws upon decades of leadership research, organizational behavior studies, and management theory, offering a structured approach to leadership development.

Readers will discover how building trust and mastering communication skills are essential for success. The book uniquely emphasizes the interconnectedness of character, competence, and connection, highlighting that these elements work synergistically. For example, ethical leadership (character) influences strategic thinking (competence) and the ability to foster strong relationships (connection). This holistic approach is grounded in evidence and the analysis of leadership styles across high-performing companies.

The book unfolds systematically, starting with an introduction to the core concepts, followed by detailed explorations of each component. It equips readers with practical tools and frameworks for self-assessment, and strategies for integrating these principles into daily leadership practice. Real-world case studies illustrate the application of these principles in diverse contexts, making Leader Code a valuable resource for aspiring and seasoned leaders alike.

Transform Your Team with the Enneagram shows you how to create great teams, whatever their size or industry, no matter if the team model is in-person, remote or a hybrid. Whether you are a team member, a team leader at any organizational level, a coach, trainer or consultant, an HR professional, or if you are simply intrigued by teams, learn how to align, attune and accelerate your team into high-performance.
There's almost nothing more exhilarating than being part of a high-performing team and little that is as distressing as being part of a dysfunctional one. That's why this book teaches you how to create vibrant, sustainable, high-performing teams. The guiding insights from the Enneagram show how each of the nine Enneagram types functions at each stage of team development and what people of each type can do to help, rather than hinder, progress to the next stage. Through a combination of principles from team dynamics, combined with insights from the Enneagram, you'll be amazed how potent using the two together are in creating high-performing teams. Derived from team dynamics, the core principle is that teams go through four predictable stages of team development. If teams address the issues that present themselves at each stage, they can transform from being potential teams to high-performing ones.
When you integrate the Enneagram into your teams, you'll end up spending less time and money dealing with conflict, you'll reduce your frustration with others, and you'll feel far more satisfied and capable at work than you ever thought possible.

Most of us spend a third of our waking lives at work. Work shapes our schedules, relationships, identities, and economies—but is it actually making us happy? This crucial question is explored in depth by leading Oxford researchers Jan-Emmanuel De Neve and George Ward, who provide the richest, most comprehensive picture of workplace wellbeing yet.

In Why Workplace Wellbeing Matters, the authors clarify what workplace wellbeing is (and is not) and offer a framework for how businesses can approach and improve it. Drawing on extensive large-scale data—including the world's largest data set on employee wellbeing, gathered in partnership with the jobs platform Indeed—the book reveals the remarkable ways in which wellbeing at work varies across workers, occupations, companies, and industries.

The authors present new, evidence-based insights into the origins of workplace wellbeing and how businesses can enhance the employee experience. Integrating work from multiple academic disciplines, they show that workplace wellbeing encompasses both how we think about our work as a whole and how we feel while doing it. Their research demonstrates that improving wellbeing can boost productivity, aid in talent retention and recruitment, and ultimately improve financial performance.

The political ideas that fully came together under the name “liberal” in the early nineteenth century—the ideas we often now refer to as “classical liberalism”—emerged out of major debates and developments from the late 1600s to the late 1700s, part of the broad European intellectual movement of that era that came to be known as “the Enlightenment.”
This volume shows how the Enlightenment and the development of liberal ideas were woven together by looking at three defining figures of the era: Baruch Spinoza (writing in the mid-1600s), the Baron de Montesquieu (mid-1700s) and Immanuel Kant (whose career reached its height in the final two decades of the 1700s). Both Spinoza and Kant were concerned with fundamental philosophical questions about what we could know about God, morality, the nature of the world, and humanity’s place in it. Montesquieu wrote almost nothing about such questions, drawing instead from global history and comparative law.
While the Enlightenment is associated with many things, one of them was the struggle to understand morality and human nature through the use of reason rather than relying on religious authority; another was the attempt to understand political and social orders in ways that would prevent a return to the wars of religion that had divided Europe in the 1500s and the first half of the 1600s. In various ways, Spinoza, Montesquieu, and Kant all argued for religious toleration—for the peaceful coexistence of different organized ways of understanding God within civil governments that didn’t enforce any one of those ways. Their support of freedom of religious thought also made all of them supporters of free inquiry and free speech. The three thinkers likewise shared commitments to the rule of law and to constitutional forms of government that would constrain the discretionary power of any one ruler.
