Sinopsis

Cargo Bike Logistics explores the potential of cargo bikes to revolutionize urban logistics, offering a sustainable solution to last-mile delivery challenges. The book examines how these zero-emission vehicles can reshape urban transportation, reduce congestion, and contribute to environmental sustainability.

One intriguing fact is the potential for significant emission reduction in urban centers. Another key insight involves the economic viability of cargo bike delivery services compared to traditional vehicles, especially when considering factors like fuel costs and parking fines.

The book systematically investigates the operational, economic, and environmental dimensions of cargo bike logistics. It progresses from defining key terms and outlining different types of cargo bikes to analyzing operational strategies, economic models, and environmental impacts. Through case studies and data analysis, the book demonstrates the potential for large-scale integration of cargo bikes into urban delivery systems. It highlights the importance of considering urban planning and business aspects to maximize the benefits of sustainable delivery.

Several years ago I became interested in the ideas of real time travel and dimensional travel. I’ve been trained in science and modern physics as well as engineering so I knew that modern theories of our physical world did not include the possibilities that time or dimensional travel existed.
As I did my research on stories of people who had travelled through time or additional dimensions there were many very credible stories. These stories eventually led me to conclude that time or dimensional travel through portals or veils does exist and some persons have experienced it.
On a book I wrote about the Tuatha Da Dannon who were the forerunners of elves, the Druids, and more there were stories that they originated in a different dimension called the Otherworld. And there were some interesting stories of humans who had traveled to the Otherworld and back.
It also turns out that the more one studies these subjects the more historical stories there are of portal, dimensional, and time travel experiences people have had.
This book then is a detailed review and exploration of portals around the world. Some of which are very plausible and others just might exist. Also could these portals be used today?
There are also lots of stories of individuals travelling through time and dimensional portals.
There are lots of interesting questions on this subject and we are just starting to learn the answers.

Assisted suicide and euthanasia are being legalized or at least debated throughout much of the world today. But should suicide ever be assisted? When someone is suffering and no longer wants to live, and asks another to help him end his life, what is the right response? In this powerful volume in Word on Fire’s Dignity Series, Stephanie Gray Connors engages both the mind and the heart in answering these increasingly urgent questions. Through ten proposed principles to help guide the conversation, On Assisted Suicide will draw readers into the mysteries of joy and suffering, life and death, and the unconditional dignity of the human person.   Why dignity? Because human dignity (dignitas, the worthiness of each person) is the foundation of all human society. Jacques Maritain, the Catholic philosopher who helped draft the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, affirmed this in saying, “The privilege connected with the dignity of the person is inalienable, and human life involves a sacred right.” In a time of political polarization, social division, and the ongoing “culture wars,” the Dignity Series aims to refocus our attention on human dignity. The series enters into the great mystery of human life with wonder and reverence, and unflinchingly faces grave threats to human dignity, many of them ignored in the culture today. Each volume in the series will examine one of those threats, drawing on rational argument, spiritual sources, and above all, personal stories that take readers into the lived experience on the frontier of the issue. This broad mix of ideas and approaches acknowledges that a wide variety of backgrounds and personalities shape how we interact with these questions—and that if a book is to help us grow, it has to stir our hearts as well as activate our minds. The Dignity Series emerges out of and points back to the whole-life ethic of Catholic social teaching, which is grounded in the principle of human dignity. “Social justice,” the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches, “can be obtained only in respecting the transcendent dignity of man” (CCC 1929). And that dignity, on the Catholic reading, can only finally rest on our status as creatures made in the image and likeness of God (Gen. 1:26). However, these books are for anyone—Catholic or non-Catholic, religious or nonreligious—who wrestles with these issues and longs to see a more informed and considerate approach to them. Fully revised edition with updated information on the surviving members of the orca pod.
In 2014, marine biologist Dr Natalie Sanders joined the crew of the research vessel Silurian to seek out Britain's West Coast Community of orca and study them before we lose them forever. Though this orca pod has delighted scientists and whale watchers for years, we still know relatively little about them, and what we do know comes mostly from citizen science and chance encounters. But what is abundantly clear is that pollution, entanglement, military sonar and climate change continue to have an enormous impact on whales and dolphins and other marine life throughout the world's oceans.
This book is a must-read for anyone interested in the marine world in this age of climate change. A captivating yet poignant account, it takes the reader from the Western Isles of Scotland to Vancouver Island and elsewhere. It also delves deep into the history of our relations with these beautiful and sentient creatures to explain what their loss means and how we can avoid similar tragedies in the future.
