Sinopse

It's an alternate history England. When the monarchy was restored in 1660, Charles II rewarded the lovers who saved his life at the Battle of Worcester by repealing not only the death penalty for sodomy, but the laws themselves. It's now 1815, and our first hero, British blond and blue-eyed rake, Peregrine, Viscount Somerville, has two problems. First, he's having glorious sex with our second hero, Rory, the brawny, red-headed, hairy Scottish rogue who's Master of Strathairn. Second, he's having glorious sex with our third hero, the languid and lethal roué, Michel, le vicomte de Vidal-Sansouci. And he's given his word of honor he won't tell Rory about Michel and vice versa.
Resolving the problems is going to take a duel, mysterious inheritances, a nefarious bishop, a scheming lord, ned-bangers, friends of Edward's, loss, a love poem, sex on the Dock where anyone might be watching (and someone probably is), humor, a frolic by the sea, a portrait, and...oh, yes...great sex.
The original version was published for free by the MM Romance Group. The revised edition is accompanied by "Banging the Bishop Back," a new short story involving the RRR guys. .
152,012 words of actual story text, including the 10,085 words of the short story, "Banging the Bishop Back"

Two generations of a Kentucky family struggle with loss and reunion in a novel by a Lambda Award winner: “Brilliant . . . emotional jolts lurk on every page.” —Entertainment Weekly   Despite the emotional distance that has long existed between them, Raphael Hardin has left San Francisco to care for his dying father in his rural Kentucky hometown. Raphael had finally made a life for himself in California, away from the tiny Appalachian town of Strang Knob—but now that life is threatened by an AIDS diagnosis.   As father and son reunite, the story moves to Raphael’s siblings, among them an alcoholic brother haunted by guilt and a sister beset by loneliness—as well as Miss Perkins, an unmarried schoolteacher who has known the Hardins for decades—painting a portrait of a family and a community, of blood struggles, broken hearts, and binding loves.   “Powerfully moving.” —New York Times Book Review   “A seductive rumination on the ways that memory can torment or soothe, and sometimes do both at the same time.” —San Francisco Chronicle   “A wise and compassionate novel.” —Publishers Weekly

"We think we know the ones we love." So Pearlie Cook begins her indirect and devastating exploration of the mystery at the heart of every relationship: how we can ever truly know another person.
It is 1953 and Pearlie, a dutiful young housewife, finds herself living in the Sunset District in San Francisco, caring not only for her husband's fragile health but also for her son, who is afflicted with polio. Then, one Saturday morning, a stranger appears on her doorstep, and everything changes. All the certainties by which Pearlie has lived and tried to protect her family are thrown into doubt. Does she know her husband at all? And what does the stranger want in return for his offer of a hundred thousand dollars? For six months in 1953 young Pearlie Cook struggles to understand the world around her, and most especially her husband, Holland.
Pearlie's story is a meditation not only on love but also on the effects of war, with one war recently over and another coming to a close. Set in a climate of fear and repression—political, sexual, and racial—The Story of a Marriage from bestselling author Andrew Sean Greer, portrays three people trapped by the confines of their era, and the desperate measures they are prepared to take to escape it. Lyrical and surprising, The Story of a Marriage looks back at a period that we tend to misremember as one of innocence and simplicity.A Macmillan Audio production.

Five years before, Aeschylus dragged his battered body home after a lifetime of service in Aegina's navy. He'd hoped for a place to curl up and forget. Instead, he'd found himself the city guard's captain and in the middle of a political firefight with Aegina's rival and nearest neighbor, Athens.
Aeschylus had stopped the municipal kidnappings and made a berth for himself. A loveless and monotonous berth.
No one with any sense would join the guard. Young hoplites itching for glory and gold joined the Marines or were hired as mercenaries. There was always a war somewhere. Aeschylus needed a decent guardsman. Someone who understood that everyone deserved the same level of protection.
Aeschylus knew prayer was as dangerous as poking a hydra with a stick, but he was out of options. Aeschylus asked Ares, the god of war, to send him an old hoplite weary of fighting.
Ares sent him Thêritas of Thrace. A young soldier on a divine labor. A handsome young soldier eager to learn what he could from Aeschylus. Gods sent men on labors to punish or prepare them for a glorious death. Aeschylus told himself there was no reason to borrow sorrows that hadn't yet happened.
    Mysteries were piling up.
It would be up to Aeschylus and his appealing young guardsman to sort the mysteries from the genuine miracles and do their best to ensure Aegina didn't go straight to Tartarus.
Aeschylus hadn't asked for a miracle. But as a result of his prayer, he got the whole miraculous ball of wax.
