Sinopsis

This is a collection of Scottish ghost stories personally related to the author, who dedicated his life to investigating the supernatural. Elliott O'Donnell (1872 – 1965) was an English author most famous for his many books about ghosts. Other notable works by this author include: “Werewolves” (1912), “Animal Ghosts” (1913), and “Strange Disappearances” (1927). “Scottish Ghost Stories” is highly recommended for modern readers with an interest in the supernatural, and it would make for a worthy addition to collections of related literature. Contents include: “The Death Bogle Of The Cross Roads, And The Inextinguishable Candle Of The Old White House, Pitlochry”, “The Top Attic In Pringle's Mansion, Edinburgh”, “The Bounding Figure Of '—— House,' Near Buckingham Terrace, Edinburgh”, “Jane Of George Street, Edinburgh”, “The Sallow-faced Woman Of No. — Forrest Road, Edinburgh”, etc. Many vintage books such as this are becoming increasingly scarce and expensive. We are republishing this volume now in an affordable, high-quality edition designed for a modern audience. This book was first published in 1911.

A modern American family move into a traditionally drafty and very haunted English mansion. So far so good but anyone knowing Wilde can expect twists and turns to make it interesting. In this cast the crusty old ghost has a tough time convincing the family he exists and then in frightening them. This is extremely frustrating of course to him and as the protagonist of the story, takes matters (and non-matters) into his hands to deal with the upstart and irreverent new tenants.

A provocative painter named Max Higgins is on the verge of local fame. What is the secret to his work’s haunting allure? He collects photos of missing persons and incorporates them into his paintings, giving the faces, as he puts it, a “new home in his work.” This fascination stems from the bizarre disappearances of people he knew growing up, including his father.
When someone recognizes a face in one of his paintings, he’s suddenly thrust into a journey as surreal as anything from his brush, a journey into his past that will irrevocably determine his future.

Jack Jupiter knows zombies. He's written about them for years. So when Jack's mother passes away in a freak car accident involving a half-eaten deer and a pack of cigarettes, he also knows something's up. Now, Jack and his fiancé, Darlene, are forced to go back to the dreadful town of Woodhaven, Ohio, for his mom's funeral.
But what he doesn't know is it might be their funeral, too.
A few months before Jack and Darlene's arrival, a mysterious flu-like virus swept through the town, infecting nearly every citizen. Now, like ticking time-bombs ready to explode, everyone is dropping dead. But they aren't staying dead. No, they're coming back as flesh-eating zombies.
Not only will Jack Jupiter have to bury his mother, confront high school bullies, and save Darlene, but he'll have to fight the dead in order to stay alive. And these aren't like the zombies from his books.
    These walking corpses are real.
