They promised themselves it was only for the summer…
Raffo retreats to a lake house in Big Bear, desperate to heal her broken heart. But peace and quiet prove impossible when she discovers Dylan—her best friend’s mother—already staying at the house, hiding from her own mistakes.
Dylan is everything Raffo doesn’t need: older, off-limits, and utterly captivating.
What starts as a shared summer sanctuary quickly turns into something far more dangerous when their undeniable chemistry ignites. As their bond deepens, passion blossoms into a love neither woman saw coming.
But summer can’t last forever. With Dylan’s son waiting in Los Angeles, their growing love risks destroying the very relationships they cherish most.
Our Secret Summer is a steamy sapphic age-gap romance about forbidden desire, irresistible connections, and the risk of following your heart when the stakes couldn’t be higher.

In 1920s England, the penalty for a homosexual act is two years' hard labor. Two men cannot kiss or hold hands without being blackmailed or threatened with arrest. Rafe Devonish, a landowner and a highly respected barrister, knows the law all too well, and the dangers of being homosexual. With constant pressure from both his mother and his profession to get married, he knows he has to act soon.

Then he meets Ivo Manning, young and full of enthusiasm for life. Rafe not only wants to kiss Ivo and hold his hand, he wants to take him to his bed and make love to him. Very quickly he learns Ivo wants the same.

With far less to lose than Rafe, Ivo is not afraid to show his love. What Rafe wants more than anything is to marry Ivo, but that's impossible. The thing about Ivo, aside from being kind, warm-hearted, and desperate for love, is his great intuition. It is this trait that allows him to help Rafe with both an important court case and a personal matter involving a tenant on his land.

As the two men spend more time together, their love grows. Their intimacy, which in the beginning frightened Rafe, becomes the cornerstone of his life.

Themes of love between people of the same gender are found in a variety of texts throughout the world. The Greeks explored the theme on different levels in works such as Plato's. Religious narratives include stories of sexuality between men or feature divine actions that result in changes in gender. These myths too are forms of LGBTQ expression and modern conceptions of sexuality and gender. Myths to have been used by to explain the "cause" of transgender identity or homosexuality.

Many early Gothic fiction authors, were homosexual and would sublimate these themes using transgressive genres like Gothic and horror fiction. Sheridan Le Fanu's novella Carmilla was the first lesbian vampire story and influenced Bram Stoker's Dracula. Stoker's novel has its own homoerotic aspects, as when Count Dracula warns off the female vampires and claims Jonathan Harker, saying "This man belongs to me!"

In the 21st century, much LGBTQ literature achieved a high level of sophistication and many works have earned mainstream acclaim. Notable authors include Sean Greer. Greer, an openly gay man, won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for Less. Becky Albertalli's teen novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda was adapted into the feature film Love, Simon by 20th Century Fox, the first film by a major studio focused on a gay teenage romance. Here is the ultimate collection of LGTBQ fiction from some of our most heralded writers. A celebration of love, light, and freedom.

The sound of the bathroom tap running late one night begins a mystery Devon is keen to solve. As small pieces of the puzzle are revealed, such as the man he discovers sitting on his couch in his house watching his television, he begins to wonder whether something paranormal isn't going on. However, having been in a bad motorcycle accident a few months earlier, Devon cannot be sure these things he's experiencing aren't hallucinations caused by brain damage sustained in the tragedy.
On the other hand, he's more than a little taken by his hot new house guest, Brad, who is the epitome of manliness. Thick, muscular, hairy, and masculine. But his hotness doesn't quite detract from the mystery of what he's doing in Devon's house, and since there's no way of communicating with a spirit, Devon decides that, as Brad isn't a malevolent ghost, there's no reason he should be worried. Or even try to stop himself from falling love.
Then a knock at the front door threatens to spoil everything. Unfortunately for Devon, there's even worse to come. He has proven his ability to survive a motorbike accident, but has he got what it takes to survive what happens next?
