Sinopse

Discover some of the most twisted, horrific true tales of murder that were inspired by movies and TV shows.

In this book, you’ll discover the crimes, killings and macabre acts carried out by individuals who were inspired by their favourite characters from the big screen. From the teen who slaughtered his mother and sister carrying out a Halloween inspired murder to the two young girls who attempted to stab their friend to death in the name of a fictional online character, you’ll discover crimes you’ve never heard of, all carried out by people who took their love for fiction and turned it into a terrifying reality.

There’s the tale of the man who took his love for Taxi Driver to a whole new level by trying to slaughter the President. You’ll also learn about the man who adored a fictional villain from a classic movie so much that he killed two wives 13 years apart, both in a brutal fashion. Then there’s the heartbreaking tale of the gang of youths who adored a horror franchise so much they tortured and mercilessly killed a young woman who thought they were her friends.

Copycat Killers delves into the inspiration behind horrifying murders and tells the tales of inspiration gone awry; when life imitates art in the worst ways imaginable. Be warned - some stories include disturbing details.

"He is the man of a thousand faces, the thief who steals hearts and diamonds with equal ease."

Step into the glamorous world of the Belle Époque, where Arsène Lupin reigns supreme as the most elusive criminal in France. Unlike the dark detectives of his time, Lupin is a hero of wit and elegance. Whether he is stealing a priceless coronet from a locked vault or solving a mystery that has baffled the authorities for years, he does so with a flair for the dramatic. From his debut in Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar to his legendary rivalry with "Herlock Sholmes," Lupin's adventures are a whirlwind of secret passages, clever ruses, and high-stakes games of cat-and-mouse.

The Master of the Impossible: Lupin doesn't just steal; he orchestrates. His heists are elaborate puzzles where he often announces his arrival in advance, daring his victims to stop him. He is a master of the "locked-room" mystery, turning every crime scene into a stage for his genius.

A Rogue with a Heart of Gold: While he lives outside the law, Lupin is a champion of the underdog. He often uses his stolen wealth to help the vulnerable or to expose the corruption of the elite. This duality—part criminal, part knight-errant—is what has made him an enduring icon for over a century.

The Inspiration for a Global Phenomenon: From the classic novels to the hit Netflix series, the spirit of Arsène Lupin continues to captivate. These stories are the blueprint for the modern "heist" genre, blending suspense, humor, and a touch of French sophistication.

Recently fans have been absorbed in Curse of the Chippendales. All of these stories rise to fame, to end so tragically.
Many questions whether Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide or was he silenced for knowing about too many powerful men’s secret affairs with under-aged girls. Same types of questions are now arising in Banerjee’s suicide. Did he have too much information on married men’s fetishes with his male dancers?
Jesse, Steve’s oldest son, was only a teenager during the height of this explosion. He watched his father build Chippendales, piece by piece of a man’s clothing flying toward a desirous woman. The rise would be magnificent, the ride famous, but the fall very tragic. It was reported that Steve committed suicide to avoid a long prison sentence for the murder of his partner, Nick DeNoia. Jesse knows another story that the perpetrators never want to be told about how the Chippendales Empire just happen to fall into the hands of an FBI agent, and all the powerbrokers: lawyers, Casino owners, & the mob, that would gain control.
Jesse has watched other people, far too many years, profit from the idea his dad created. His stepmother, Irene, lied to him about the role he would play in the company after Steve’s death. After this promise didn’t come to fruition, Jesse began to ask questions about his father’s fortune as was his right as an heir, and was threatened by Irene’s brother-in-law, an FBI agent. Jesse was told in no uncertain terms that he wouldn’t be receiving anything.
Many stories have been told about Chippendales, all of them are mostly the narratives of the perpetrators that stole the empire, & cleverly they have managed to make their story very believable and credible. Silenced by intimidation, threats, and a corrupt Justice system, not anymore. For the first time, Jesse is revealing the true story in Bowtie Legacy.

Henry Louis Wallace terrorized Charlotte, North Carolina, from May 1992 to March 1994. Wallace preyed on lower economic-class Black women between 17 and 35 years old. He knew most of his victims, some through his job at Taco Bell, and gained their trust with his friendly demeanor and gentle nature—concealing a monster fueled by drug abuse and rage against women. A rarity in that he was an African American serial killer, his murderous rampage spurred controversy throughout the city. Community members accused local police of ignoring the murders because of the victims' race. Wallace attended the funerals of many of his victims and offered condolences to families. The ensuing investigation became the largest in North Carolina’s history. Wallace was eventually found guilty and convicted of nine counts of murder, but he admitted to more killings while incarcerated; he is potentially responsible for anywhere from 20 to 90 deaths of Black women. Wallace continues to appeal and awaits his execution at Central Prison in Raleigh. BAD HENRY: The Murderous Rampage of ‘The Taco Bell Strangler’ by Ron Chepesiuk offers valuable insight into the psychology of serial killers and sheds light on issues surrounding race and policing.

Most who visit merely look around, happy to satisfy their curiosity before leaving, never to return. But some are sucked into the criminal underworld and find themselves doing things they would never have contemplated in the real world—ordering a hit on a love rival or bidding on an auction for a sex slave—like the people in this book.

A Minnesota dog trainer is found dead of an apparent suicide after detectives find her details on a dark web murder-for-hire site. But who paid $13,000 in Bitcoin to kill this devout Christian and beloved wife and mother?

A Page-3 glamour model is drugged, kidnapped and listed for sale on a dark web human trafficking site.
