This story of two girls trying to banish a witch is “full of wonderful fun, excitement, and humor” (Library Journal).   Old Witch likes nothing better than to fly around on her broomstick, crying “Heh-heh!” and casting abracadabras. But now she has been sent away . . . by two young girls.   Amy and Clarissa have decided that Old Witch is just too mean and wicked. So, drawing a rickety old house upon a barren glass hill, they exile Old Witch there with a warning: She better be good, or else no Halloween! But to give Old Witch some company, they draw her a Little Witch Girl and a Weeny Witch Baby . . .   Old Witch tries to be good, but anyone would get up to no good in a place as lonely as the glass hill. And Amy and Clarissa are about to find that out, when Old Witch magics them into her world of make-believe-made-real, in “a very special book that is certain to give boundless pleasure—at any time of the year” (The Horn Book).   “A classic for Halloween.” —Library Journal

When Thor's hammer goes missing, trickster god Loki, still trapped as a cranky eleven-year-old boy, is determined to prove he's innocent (for once!). The hilarious series continues in this second volume.

Norse god Loki records the highs and lows of living on Earth as an eleven-year-old in grumbles, snarks, and doodles in his enchanted diary. He might not have shown any moral improvement (yet), but Odin has given Loki another chance to prove himself worthy of Asgard. Earning everyone's trust isn't easy, however. So far, Loki has managed to make only one human friend, Valerie, but is now irritated to learn that Valerie has made another friend, Georgina. Then, at Thor's birthday party (a pointless mortal ritual, though luckily there is cake), the magical hammer Mjolnir is stolen—and everyone suspects Loki! Can Loki find Thor's hammer, discover who the real thief is, and clear his name—or will his jealousy over Valerie's new friend cloud his judgment? From dangerous Frost Giants to disappointing parent-teacher conferences, Loki's riotously funny adventures continue.

Arthur C. Clarke’s Exile of the Eons opens at the moment of total defeat. A ruthless mastermind, cornered by the collapse of his global war, refuses surrender and turns instead to an audacious experiment in suspended animation—choosing exile in time rather than face justice. He believes that a hundred years will be enough for the world to forget his name and his crimes.
But time is far larger than he expects. When the story leaps deep into Earth’s distant future, the consequences of his gamble reveal themselves through the eyes of another exile—one far removed from violence, empire, and conquest. As civilizations rise and fall, Clarke unfolds a vast cosmic perspective that reframes power, morality, and responsibility. The story builds toward a quiet but profound reckoning that lingers long after the final pages.
Arthur C. Clarke is one of the most influential voices in science fiction history, celebrated for blending scientific rigor with philosophical depth. His stories often explore humanity’s place in the universe, the ethics of power, and the long shadows cast by technology and ambition.
Best known for works like 2001: A Space Odyssey, Clarke helped define modern hard science fiction while remaining deeply concerned with moral consequence. Exile of the Eons showcases his gift for compressing epic spans of time into intimate, unforgettable moments.
