Sinopse

Riley Randall has spent eight years smiling at new brides, being excited for her friends as they find Mr. Right, and dating by a strict set of rules that she never breaks. But she might have to consider bending those rules ever so slightly if she wants an escape from the island...When thirty-five-year-old Riley finds a watch on an airplane, she manages to track down the owner—an Evan Garfield, lead singer for Georgia Panic, the #1 rock band in the country. Maybe even the world. Riley retreats, because Evan's not a permanent resident of Getaway Bay (that's rule #1), and there's no way a superstar like him would be interested in a nobody like her.Oh, but Evan is interested, and he manages to find Riley even after she flees the coffee shop where she met him to return the watch. He desperately needs an escape from his high-pressure life as a celebrity, and he loves the way she treats him like a normal man. As they start a romance on the island, Evan only wants to be with Riley, and she has to admit that she's glad she bent her dating rules just a little bit...But his agent needs him in LA. The band has some hard-nosed negotiating to do with their record label. New proposals are made for Evan to become a solo artist. Through the whirlwind of who he is and what he does for a living, Riley is left behind. Will he be able to navigate the potholes of his career and keep Riley in his life? Or will she be forever destined to watch others find their happily-ever-after—and watch Evan escape the island without her?

The Escape: Laszlo the Gargoyle: Excerpts from the Cutting Room Floor was the third story set to be released in the main book, but I had to cut it somewhere. So, I cleaned it up and made it a standalone story. Here is the Logline (as we call it): Two military peons on a routine task in a military storage facility wake up monsters in cryo sleep, and all hell breaks loose.

Short stories have always been a sort of instant access into an author’s brain, their soul and heart. A few pages can lift our lives into locations, people and experiences with a sweep of landscape, narration, feelings and emotions that is difficult to achieve elsewhere.

In this series we try to offer up tried and trusted ‘Top Tens’ across many different themes and authors. But any anthology will immediately throw up the questions – Why that story? Why that author?

The theme itself will form the boundaries for our stories which range from well-known classics, newly told, to stories that modern times have overlooked but perfectly exemplify the theme. Throughout the volume our authors whether of instant recognition or new to you are all leviathans of literature.

Some you may disagree with but they will get you thinking; about our choices and about those you would have made. If this volume takes you on a path to discover more of these miniature masterpieces then we have all gained something.

In this volume ‘Weird’ is exactly what these stories are. Although usually listed by its own library filing these stories, all written by women, may be weird by nature but definitely mainstream by reach.

I was used to getting the short end of the stick, so I shouldn't have been surprised when I found myself fleeing my cheating ex, only to be run off the road and attacked by a vicious creature, barely escaping with my life.

Whisked away to the middle of the woods with no car or money, I found myself surrounded by crazies who claim to shift into animals and run in packs during the full moon. Even crazier? They say I'm one of them. And so was my attacker.

Normally I'd be running for the hills, but when the leader of this group tells me there have been other deadly attacks and I'm the sole survivor, the ten thousand dollar bounty he offers in exchange for my help is too tempting to resist.

Forced to partner with a gorgeous but infuriating rogue shifter who challenges me at every turn, we're propelled into a race against the clock to track down the killer.

Meet Amelia Moon, a “precocious” (per her third grade teacher) teenager from the small (and mostly quiet) town of Sundance, Wyoming.
Whether fly-fishing for rainbow trout in the Belle Fourche River, enjoying a wood-fired pizza from the hundred-year-old Smokey Moses oven, or joining her Forest Ranger father to check on the local wolf reintroduction program in the Bear Lodge Mountains, Amelia makes the most of the luxuries her western town affords.
But, with the annual Summer Solstice Spectacular just around the corner, she’s about to discover her hometown isn’t as sleepy as it seems.
In the weeks leading up to the celebration, Amelia and her quirky best friend, Veyla, stumble upon strange events and hidden clues that suggest Sundance is hiding deep secrets. And the deeper the girls get, the more they keep tripping over the invisible thread connecting all these long-buried mysteries – Amelia’s own family's elusive history.
Suddenly, the world Amelia thought she knew unravels, revealing hidden wonders and unforeseen challenges. Each twist pulls Amelia closer to answering one question: is she ready to embrace her destiny?

A Voyage to Sfanomoë - Brought to you by Altrusian Grace Media and narrated by Matthew Schmitz
Clark Ashton Smith (January 13, 1893 – August 14, 1961) was an American writer and artist. He achieved early local recognition, largely through the enthusiasm of George Sterling, for traditional verse in the vein of Swinburne. As a poet, Smith is grouped with the West Coast Romantics alongside Joaquin Miller, Sterling, and Nora May French and remembered as "The Last of the Great Romantics" and "The Bard of Auburn". Smith's work was praised by his contemporaries. H. P. Lovecraft stated that "in sheer daemonic strangeness and fertility of conception, Clark Ashton Smith is perhaps unexcelled", and Ray Bradbury said that Smith "filled my mind with incredible worlds, impossibly beautiful cities, and still more fantastic creatures".
Smith was one of "the big three of Weird Tales, with Robert E. Howard and H. P. Lovecraft", though some readers objected to his morbidness and violation of pulp traditions. The fantasy writer and critic L. Sprague de Camp said of him that "nobody since Poe has so loved a well-rotted corpse".[3] Smith was a member of the Lovecraft circle, and his literary friendship with Lovecraft lasted from 1922 until Lovecraft's death in 1937. His work is marked by an extraordinarily rich and ornate vocabulary, a cosmic perspective and a vein of sardonic and sometimes ribald humor.
Of his writing style, Smith stated: "My own conscious ideal has been to delude the reader into accepting an impossibility, or series of impossibilities, by means of a sort of verbal black magic, in the achievement of which I make use of prose-rhythm, metaphor, simile, tone-color, counter-point, and other stylistic resources, like a sort of incantation."
