Sacrifice is often seen as the ultimate act of selflessness, a decision to give up something valuable for the benefit of others. It manifests in various forms, from small daily compromises to life-altering choices that define one's character. True sacrifice is not merely about loss but about a deeper understanding of purpose, love, and responsibility. It is an act driven by compassion, commitment, and a willingness to put others before oneself, even when it comes at a great personal cost.
Throughout history, sacrifice has played a crucial role in shaping societies and individuals. From warriors who lay down their lives for their nations to parents who dedicate their existence to their children's well-being, the essence of sacrifice is woven into the fabric of humanity. Ancient traditions and religions uphold sacrifice as a virtue, often associating it with divine favor, enlightenment, or moral duty. Whether in the form of offerings to gods, acts of service, or personal hardships endured for the greater good, sacrifice has always been regarded as an honorable and noble act.
Yet, the concept of sacrifice is often misunderstood. Many equate it with mere obligation or duty, but true sacrifice goes beyond forced compliance. It is a conscious choice made out of love, not compulsion. A soldier who volunteers for a dangerous mission, a teacher who dedicates their life to underprivileged children, or a person who donates a life-saving organ to a stranger—these are acts of sacrifice born not out of obligation but from a genuine desire to make a difference. Unlike reluctant compromises, true sacrifice carries an emotional depth that transforms both the giver and the recipient.

It's one thing to live an extraordinary life but another to live multiple lifetimes.
Author Alla Kaluzhny knew her life was not her only one. What started as an interest in past lives quickly became a calling as she set out to discover her past lifetimes. Through meditation and guidance, she was able to connect with her past selves and eventually pen it in an illuminating read.
In her book, "Turning the Pages," she pens her experiences from her past lives. From existing as a courageous knight in battle to living as a humble Mayan girl—the author intricately links her past lives with her current one.
Aside from her experiences, she also writes down her observations. By utilizing her keen senses, the author was able to weave past events and figure out how it affects her present. Knowing how these chains of events occur enables her to discover some lessons she must learn and issues she must resolve. As she writes about her connection with her past selves, I feel that we, too, must understand how to do the same if our souls are to become better versions in the next lifetime.
The author also writes about lessons on self-forgiveness, patience, and kindness. When you live multiple lifetimes, it's easy to assume that some lives may be more difficult than others. However, the author makes it a point never to assume the quality of life based on how it ended. It was truly humbling to read about her experience with her former life as a Mayan girl, which may be my favorite part of the book so far!
Nevertheless, "Turning the Pages" is a tour de force of self-exploration—not just in this life but all of them as we continue the cycle. If you have questions about past lives and how they can affect your pages, this book can answer them.

Stories, spells, rituals, and recipes celebrating the worldwide influence of this beloved Celtic goddess, with contributions from Amy Blackthorn, Laura Tempest Zakroff, Courtney Weber, and many others This anthology celebrates Brigid, an ancient and mysterious Celtic spirit who ranks among today’s most popular modern goddesses. Venerated in many forms including as a saint and a goddess, Brigid has traveled the globe alongside the Celtic diaspora. Once a goddess with a narrow territory, she is now an internationally beloved presence. While acknowledging her origins, this book also explores Brigid from the perspective of those outside her original Celtic homeland. Editors Cairelle Crow and Laura Louella have gathered art, poetry, stories, spells, rituals, recipes, and traditions as an homage to the worldwide influence of Brigid’s magic and lore, especially among the descendants of immigrants to the Americas. In compiling these individual works, Cairelle and Laura have given voice to those traveling ancestors by showcasing a rich and beautiful heritage manifested through embodiments of devotion by their descendants, as well as others touched by Brigid.
