Sinopsis

In "The Rover Boys at College; Or, The Right Road and the Wrong," Edward Stratemeyer crafts an engaging and adventure-laden narrative that explores themes of camaraderie, moral choices, and personal growth. Set against the backdrop of the collegiate experience, this installment in the Rover Boys series combines elements of adventure fiction with a didactic tone, emblematic of early 20th-century boys' literature. Stratemeyer employs a straightforward narrative style, interspersed with lively dialogue and relatable characters, making it accessible to younger readers while reflecting the values and expectations of American society at the time. Edward Stratemeyer, an influential figure in children's literature, was known for his ability to create captivating series that addressed youthful aspirations and challenges. His own formative years influenced his portrayal of friendship, loyalty, and the struggle between right and wrong, themes he believed were vital for the moral development of young readers. As a prolific author and publisher, Stratemeyer understood the importance of engaging storytelling in shaping the character of the youth, and this book exemplifies his commitment to instilling positive values. I highly recommend "The Rover Boys at College" for both young readers and those interested in the evolution of children's literature. Its engaging narrative and moral undertones make it a timeless exploration of the collegiate experience, inviting readers to reflect on their own life choices while enjoying an entertaining story.

This new book is an introduction for young listeners to the timeless and constant battle waged between good and evil. In this fascinating and humorous tale, Alex Fonteyn shows in a Christian spirit and also in simple terms for children to understand, what is sin and what is virtue. The author has purposely chosen to set the action in a 'once upon a time' frame where time and the location do not really matter.

As a starting point is an old legend from a country, which seems to sit somewhere close to the end of the world: Poland. Yet the characters along with their fiery passions, attachments and moral dilemmas remain surprisingly close to us. Thus, in spite of the exotic and colorful setting, our children will recognize immediately a world which is most familiar to them and will easily understand the meaning of the moral message. They will happily appreciate the value of this book, especially as it bears Arthur Friday's illustrations which are, as always, enchanting and full of fantasy.

Lord Harding and the Flying Roosters is a heart-warming Christian story for children of a nobleman who dabbles with dangerous dark forces! Lord Harding lives in the mythical city of Cracow. He is an educated and clever man, but spends far too much time reveling with his friends, drinking and frittering his time away - much to the consternation of his wife!

He decides that what he wants most of all is to know the secret of life and death, in order to continue his fun-filled, but ultimately empty lifestyle. Locked way in his study, he foolishly tries to conjure up the devil in order that he may learn the secret of life and death.

The tale tells the story of his efforts to outsmart the devil, alternating between living a good moral life and yielding to the temptations laid before him. This is a story as relevant today as it was hundreds of years ago in the ancient city of Cracow -- can we really control our own destiny?

Will our noble Lord find what he is looking for, will he learn the secrets of eternal life, or will it all end in tears and his wife's dire warnings turn out to be true?

    Dear Listeners,
In this book one learns about the fundamental principles of bhakti-yoga and how these principles free one's life completely from material suffering. In due course of time wisdom was transferred from the Supreme Person, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, to the people of this world.
“The Personality of Godhead, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, said: I instructed this imperishable science of yoga to the sun-god, Vivasvān, and Vivasvān instructed it to Manu, the father of mankind, and Manu in turn instructed it to Ikṣvāku.
This supreme science was thus received through the chain of disciplic succession, and the saintly kings understood it in that way. But in course of time the succession was broken, and therefore the science as it is appears to be lost.”
    (BG 4.1-2)
Due to the fact that this transcendental wisdom of yoga was lost over time, now we have to remind ourselves of it and revive it again.
I am writing therefore as a messenger of the spiritual discipline of yoga, steadily engaged in serving humanity. Recognising the importance of this transcendental wisdom, we want to invite you to learn about the Mantra-Meditation particularly. Perhaps you are already following meditation or have some knowledge of yoga, nonetheless, one can learn a lot from this book “Via Medium”.
It concerns the history of the transmission of transcendental knowledge, the mantra meditation, its technique and theology, as well as the supreme science - bhakti-yoga.
It also tells a personal story and transformative account with the Maha-Mantra meditation and how I got to know His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, a bona fide spiritual master, receiving initiation into the spiritual discipline as a servant of Kṛṣṇa, the son of Mother Yashoda, receiving the spiritual name Yaśomatinandana Dāsa.
