Sinossi

Edgar Wallace was a prolific British writer in the early 20th century, known for his crime and detective fiction. The Devil Man is one of his lesser-known works, but it is a classic example of his style.

The story follows Inspector Elk of Scotland Yard as he investigates a series of murders that seem to be connected to a mysterious man known as "the Devil Man." The Devil Man is said to have supernatural powers and the ability to control people's minds. Elk is initially skeptical of these claims but soon discovers that there may be some truth to them.

The Devil Man is a thrilling mystery full of twists and turns. Wallace's writing style is fast-paced and engaging, and he keeps the reader guessing until the very end.

Edgar Wallace (1875-1932) was a British author, journalist, and playwright, best known for his crime and detective novels. He wrote over 170 novels, 957 short stories, and 18 stage plays during his prolific career. Wallace's work was popular in his time, and his novels were often adapted for film and stage.

Killing for a living is easy, living for a reason is much harder
    Meet Ruslan Akulov.
In the shadowy world of assassins for hire, he is known as ‘Wolf Six’.
A Ukrainian raised in Moscow, conscripted into Russia’s most covert Special Forces unit ‘The Werewolves’, Akulov is full of loathing for the country that built and then broke him. The only rules he follows now are his own.
Unable to shake the guilt of his past, Akulov has made it his business to seek out those who prey upon the innocent. The name Wolf Six is legendary - whispered by those who know it with fear. But when Akulov accidentally thwarts the armed robbery of a Chicago Bank, he pits himself against both the Russian Bratva and the CIA, setting into motion a spiralling sequence of events which will bring his past back to haunt him, and potentially turn his future to ashes…
His mission of retribution takes him from Chicago to Kyiv, to Havana and back into the US, where Akulov must stop at nothing if he is to remain alive. No simple mission, even for the world’s deadliest assassin.

Jamie Carson and his partner Stephanie Marx at the BigLaw firm of Ely, Snow & Carson cross the ocean to England and the tax haven Isle of Man searching for evidence that they hope may free their client in front of a Connecticut jury. Cross Examination gives the reader a front row seat to what first-rate lawyers must do to bring justice to a case where others would have failed.
What Others Are Saying About The Jamie Carson Legal Thrillers
“Mitch McDeere, Mickey Haller, Frank Galvin, Jake Brigance; all great characters in the legal thriller genre. Well, you can now add Jamie Carson to that lofty list. In his debut novel, Reasonably Foreseeable, attorney turned author James E. Carroll creates a complex story where the lead character must navigate a volatile legal landscape where the most vulnerable are often chewed up and spit out unless they have a champion willing to risk their career, and even their lives to achieve justice. James E. Carroll has written a taut, propulsive drama that will keep you guessing to the very last page.”
—Casey Sherman, N.Y. Times Bestselling Author of Helltown and A Murder in Hollywood
“Connecticut is called ‘the land of steady habits.’ Not so in the Jamie Carson series. James E. Carroll is a master of narrative who allows the reader to slip into the mind of a brilliant trial lawyer. Like the great writers of legal fiction, Carroll has created a place and an intriguing character who I hope will treat us to courtroom drama in the years to come.” —CT Attorney Steven G. Mednick
