"It Started with a Finger Up My A*se" is not your typical prostate cancer memoir — it’s a brutally honest, unexpectedly funny, and a deeply human journey through a diagnosis millions of men face but few talk about.
You will get more solace from this prize-worthy, self-proclaimed masterpiece than any other book on the subject or your money back. (I didn’t mean that; I’m just making a point.)
I was diagnosed in 2024, and what followed was equal parts terrifying, ridiculous, painful, and oddly enlightening. This audiobook is filled with things you won’t hear in polite conversation, but probably should — from awkward intrusive exams and midnight fears, to German penis pumps and injections in a place they do not belong. Not forgetting conversations about Harry Potter, Ted lasso and porn. I know, strange.
You will laugh, maybe cry, and most definitely clench. It will also help you tackle those fears, especially in the dark moments when you feel very alone, of which there may be many. But more than that, you'll find comfort, connection, and the raw truths no brochure will tell you.
It’s my hope that the raw and unfiltered truths will give you answers to the questions you didn’t know you needed to ask.
So, what do you do when confronted with cancer? You look it square in the face and laugh at it because sometimes that’s all you can do. This evil illness has so much power over us, and I think it’s time we took some of it back.
It Started with a Finger Up My A*se (which it did) is a book for everybody because that’s precisely who prostate cancer affects.
Listen, laugh and learn. Then pass what you know on to the next man, because unfortunately there will always be a next man.

Spencer Quinn's Bark to the Future continues the adventurous New York Times and USA Today bestselling series that Stephen King calls “without a doubt the most original mystery series currently available.”

When Chet the dog, “the most lovable narrator in all of crime fiction” (Boston Globe), and his human partner, PI Bernie Little, are approached by a down-andout older man with a cardboard sign at an exit ramp, Bernie is shocked to discover
the man is a former teammate from his high school baseball team. Chet and Bernie take Rocket out for a good meal, and later, Bernie investigates Rocket’s past, trying to figure out what exactly went wrong.

Then, Rocket goes suspiciously missing. With his former teammate likely in danger, Bernie goes back to his old high school for answers, where much that he remembers turns out not to be true—and there are powerful and dangerous
people not happy with the questions Bernie is asking.

Bernie soon learns that he misunderstood much about his high school years—and now, Chet and Bernie are plunged into a dangerous case where the past isn’t dead and the future could be fatal.

    Wrongly Writing - The ongoing...

The much anticipated ongoing saga of an incomplete wanker, involving international drug smuggling operations, complications over library membership, and the Dutch.
Follow a man barely deserving of the title as he flails through a turgid cesspit of human depravity, only to discover that he’s the one bunging up its U-bend. Wrongly Writing has even more psychiatrists, anaphylaxis and cringing social ineptitude than the first Wrong Book, and proves that while editors exist for a reason, the author clearly doesn’t.
Similar to The Bible, in that Jesus is mentioned over twenty times, and entirely dissimilar to Médard Alard's 1922 masterpiece, "Est-ce Que Quelqu'un a Vu Mes Clés de Voiture?", which sold over thirteen copies thanks to a national cheese shortage.

A compendium of quotes and riffs by P.J. O'Rourke on subjects ranging from government to fishing to apps, to be published on what would have been his seventy-fifth birthday.

When The Penguin Dictionary of Modern Humorous Quotations was published in 1994, P. J. O'Rourke had more entries than any living writer. And he kept writing funny stuff for another twenty-eight years. Now, for the first time, the best material is collected in one volume. Edited by Terry McDonell, The Funny Stuff is arranged in six sections, organized by subject in alphabetical order from Agriculture to Xenophobia. From his earliest days at the National Lampoon in the 1970s, through his classic reporting for Rolling Stone in the '80s and '90s to his post-Trump, pandemic, new media observations of recent years, P. J. produced incisive, amusing copy. Not only did P. J. write memorable one-liners, he also meticulously constructed riffs that are still being quoted years later. His prose has the electric verbal energy of Tom Wolfe or Hunter Thompson, but P. J. is more flat out funny. And through it all comes his clear-eyed take on politics, economics, human nature—and fun. The Funny Stuff is a book for P. J. fans to devour but also a book that will bring new audiences and stand as testament to one of the truly original American writers of the last fifty years.

A devastating shipwreck, a prisoner of miniature empires, and a hilarious, biting mirror held up to human folly.
Washed ashore after a violent storm, the ambitious surgeon Lemuel Gulliver awakens on the strange island of Lilliput—only to find himself bound to the earth by thousands of microscopic threads. His captors are a civilization of humans barely six inches tall, yet possessed of massive ambitions, petty rivalries, and deeply absurd political schisms. From mediating a devastating, bloody war over which end to break an egg, to serving as a titan-sized weapon of mass destruction against the neighboring empire of Blefuscu, Gulliver must navigate a treacherous world where he is both an all-powerful god and a highly vulnerable pawn. But as the diminutive political leaders scheme to use him—or slowly starve him to death—Gulliver realizes that true survival will require far more than mere physical size; it will demand ultimate cunning.
Why you will love this: If you crave sharp-witted Satirical Fiction, sweeping classic adventure, and brilliant cultural allegories, this timeless classic will completely captivate you. Blending biting political satire, deadpan absurdism, and thrilling maritime tropes, it masterfully skewering the pompousness of polite society. Prepare for a story where societal critiques are wrapped in awe-inspiring world-building, high-stakes sea voyages, and deeply thought-provoking philosophical reflections.
About the Author: Jonathan Swift was a prolific eighteenth-century Anglo-Irish satirist, essayist, and cleric, widely regarded as the foremost prose satirist in the English language. His deeply ironic style revolutionized literary critiques of government, religion, and human vanity, leaving a legacy that endures centuries later.

Meet Finch. Enthusiastic tourist, cocktail lover, not yet wise to the ways of the galaxy.
Finch is a young avian on a mission to see the galaxy. There's plenty of danger out there on strange planets and in pirate-infested shipping lanes. Granny's old guide book from her travels a century earlier may be helpful - or could it lead Finch into mortal peril?
The round-the-galaxy tour is a rite of passage for every young avian as they approach their adult moult. Most youngsters do the rounds of the most popular sights and tick off the standard bucket list of experiences. Finch wants to follow the road less travelled, but deviating from the usual itinerary has its risks. Are avians safe in the wider galaxy?
Finch's brushes with feather smugglers and an apocalypse cult bent on destruction only serve to increase their thirst for adventure. Where will life, luck and Granny's guidebook take them?
Finch started life in a serious non-fiction book as a little character arriving on a new planet. They've appeared in several short stories over the years, but there are more adventures to recount. The Travels of Finch includes these earlier adventures and introduces brand new destinations, challenges and scrapes for your favourite avian - and the mysterious octopus barman.
