I hope that you will enjoy these 21 short stories featuring ideas about drones and the new innovations that we may see in the coming days.
Each one of these little sketches of concepts to come came in to my little mind, ususally in the wee hours while sitting on a very comfy-overstuffed chair in the dark.
I have these little micro flashlights (rechargeable) that fit on my fingers to shine the light on my clipboard as I frantically try to jot the idea down before I forget it and my mind returns to thinking about more important things, like what is in my refrigerator.
After I jot down the idea, I go type it out on the computer and maybe flesh a little more out and then edit and re-edit and edit again. And then when I read it aloud, I find scores more errors! And I wonder why I ever wanted to become a writer!
And the fights with my printer are legendary. My neighbors don't often talk to me when I am out checking the mail or whatnot, as they have, no doubt, heard me fighting and cussing at my computer through my open window. I must apologize for that, but you must understand I don't have muses or spektors, but instead, only and aging printer that only works when it wants to and I find it a semi evil entity.
But, back to writing, which is a passion and a need to get the stories out of my head before I forget them. They are like puzzles to me that only I can solve because most of the time I have no idea where they are going.
Anyway, I hope that you will, or have enjoyed these stories and will eagerly look for others...as I certainly will be.
    Thank You for your time,

"Well written, great characters, terrific story, it all seems so plausible, sort of, maybe." - Amazon review
"A love affair between two of the protagonists leaves one of them in distress, and I found myself really feeling his tears at his loss. That means that the writing was first class." - Amazon review
A convoluted, but down-to-earth sci-fi story set in the fringes of the present-day UK GCHQ.
A spell at GCHQ sounded like a refreshing change for academic historian George. But his life is thrown upside down when he gets put in a team with a gifted physicist, Alex, and multi-talented prankster mathematician, Betty, who have covertly broken through the accepted rules of physics to produce an extraordinary novel technology. As the full powers of their device become apparent, they conspire to conceal the truth from their paymasters whilst pushing the boundaries of its science relentlessly, until overtaken by a perfect storm of bad luck that has catastrophic consequences. Romance, action, despair and guilt clash as they desperately struggle to put things right.
A great read for those who enjoy exploration of concepts such as time, entanglement, multiverse theory, reality and actuality; it also weaves in credible personal stories.

Ok, so here’s the deal. You would like untold riches, power, fame and flesh. I can give you that for the rest of your earthly life. But I would like a little something in return. Of course, nothing so coarse as to hamper your rampant greed for the rest of your life. No, merely your soul for eternity. Is it a bargain we both agree? Splendid. Let us begin.

Greed and desire are all things in small measure that we sometimes pursue but in the hands of authors such as Nathaniel Hawthorne, William Makepeace Thackeray, Anatole France and others the appetite for both is somewhat more ambitious.

*Winner of the Aurora Award for Best Novel*From SUNDAY TIMES bestselling author Kate Heartfield comes a glorious, lyrical retelling of one of Norse mythology’s greatest epics
'With a brilliant heroine at the helm, this richly detailed, character-driven story renders epic mythological battles on a human scale' Publishers Weekly
Brynhild is a Valkyrie: shieldmaiden of the Allfather, chooser of the slain. But now she too has fallen, flightless in her exile.
Gudrun is a princess of Burgundy, a daughter of the Rhine, a prize for an invading king – a king whose brother Attila has other plans, and a dragon to call upon.
And in the songs to be sung, there is another hero: Sigurd, a warrior with a sword sharper than the new moon.
As the legends tell, these names are destined to be lovers, fated as enemies. But here on Midgard, legends can be lies…
For not all heroes are heroic, nor all monsters monstrous. And a shieldmaiden may yet find that love is the greatest weapon of all.
The Valkyrie is a historical fantasy fiction by Sunday Times bestselling author, Kate Heartfield. This latest mediaeval romance is a fresh take on fairy tales, where heroes and monsters are not always what they seem.
