Sinopsis

In 1960s Reading, ten-year-old Billy McCarty’s life changes when his aunt arrives from America with an unexpected gift: a denim jacket stitched with the name Billy the Kid.

Sharing the same name with the legendary outlaw sparks something in Billy, inspiring him to lead his own gang of mischief-makers. From chasing ghosts in abandoned mansions to skinny-dipping escapades gone embarrassingly wrong, Billy, Pinky, and Porky find trouble wherever they go.

But beneath their adventures, Billy carries the weight of loss and a growing awareness of something bigger guiding his path. As strange coincidences start to shape his journey, Billy begins to wonder if destiny has a hand in his story after all.

A warm, nostalgic adventure set in 1960s England, A KID CALLED BILLY is a coming-of-age tale full of humour, heart, and a dash of the extraordinary.

Nicolas Tosh is a Math Prodigy. In the late 70s, he develops a series of discreet algorithms that enable seamless communications "to" and "from" the brain. "Thoughts replace voices as a communication medium, the brain's memory banks become easily downloadable and every "live" thought, image and sound can be captured through Tosh's mathematical constructs. To ensure neutrality and a safe haven for his operations, he builds a data center in Zermatt, Switzerland to host a global neural network and a "state of the art" Quantum Computer that enables the deployment of his set of algorithms on a global scale. Realizing that the misuse of his formulas could have serious repercussions, Tosh seeks the G-7 to designate them as WMDs, but inevitably conflicts arise as one nation tries to take advantage of Tosh's formulas, to the detriment of the other member nations, in particular of Algorithm-323.

46 BC. Pompey is dead, Egypt is settled, and Rome is controlled by the loyal Marcus Antonius. As the new year looms, Rome’s greatest general and dictator Julius Caesar moves precipitously to take on the last stronghold of the rebel faction: Africa.

Crossing against all advice in the middle of winter, with minimal forces and little forward planning, the campaign almost dies before it begins, legions scattered across the sea by vicious storms, the general putting ashore with just a single legion and his most trusted veteran commander: Marcus Falerius Fronto.

But the war in Africa is no easy task. Scipio, Cato and Caesar’s one-time lieutenant Labienus have gathered an enormous force to counter him, and are prepared to fight to the death. With few troops, no supplies, little foreknowledge, and all the problems of a winter campaign, Fronto and Caesar face a monumental struggle, yet they know they must win for the prize in this campaign is nothing less than control of the republic itself. Rome hangs in the balance.
