Urafiki as a philosophy invites us to extend the overwhelming focus on the self and self-made success to incorporate the dynamic power of social resources, relationships and connections.In the context of self-help and wellness, the power of social or divine connections and friendships is overshadowed by the law of attraction or the power of positive thinking that touches on the individual's responsibility in ensuring that they attract and generate success through thinking, visualising and focusing on positive things. Yet, that is only one step to success. To achieve long-term, multigenerational upward social and economic mobility or well-being and prosperity, a person needs a combination of 1) active training of the self by means such as acquiring a formal education or some form of training, 2) adopting innate resources like the law of attraction or the power of positive thinking and visualisation and 3)management and nurturing of invaluable social resources in the form of friendships of utility, social connections and networks, constructive relationships and divine connections that eventually lead to 4) enduring physical, external manifestations of success.
